Some Half Life 1 era models were added to the Workshop recently, so I was inspired to dig out some from the collection of pre-and post-Black Mesa realistic HL1 models and fool around with them for a bit.

Really fond of Barney in his security gear, and it's a shame nobody's done a better model, even with the Black Mesa resources. I'm fond with this one, but the rigging is all over the place and the helmet has a glitchy material file. SubMaterial tool helps to remedy that, but I can't rely on that all the time, I figure. Plus the shortcut of using the chrome texture from HL1 models breaks down when they glitch out under a lamp.

My headcanon is that Black Mesa and McDonalds worked out a deal of partnership, thus they provide catering in their research facilities. Totally not just an excuse for why I insist on using McDonalds food in these pictures at all. No sir.
