Description
A Cooper's Hawk in Buffalo, NY. Near Lake LaSalle , University of buffalo. In its talons is a European Starling.do not use my photos without my permission.

You're right on the Starling, but this hawk is an Accipiter, not a Buteo, and more specifically an adult Cooper's Hawk.
It's a little tight on the right and left for my taste, and I find the white in the top right kind of overpowering. Nice job capturing a raptor with prey though, always exciting.

thanks ryan, you are the birdman indeed. Tell you the truth I had never heard of a Cooper's hawk. I will edit the information and will consider reposting this as a less tightly cropped image. As for the top, I can try a different crop, but thats simply where I was and where 'Cooper' was.
