Description
Wrex and Grunt Dragon Effect MercsImagining the Krogan as sort of a subsidiary race to the Qunari. Lesser in number and therefore mostly serving as hired mercs instead of having an actual system of government.
Grunt- referenced Sebastian Vael’s armor a bit for Grunt’s look, wanted him to come across as more of a good natured young Krogan who is trying to distance himself from the violent nature of his race. Maybe Shepard would run into him while he’s out on a soul searching pilgrimage or something.
Wrex- By contrast I wanted Wrex to look like he’s totally embracing his badass nature and I’m imaging him as leader of a wondering band of pillaging Krogan mercs before deciding to aid Shepard. (maybe a renegade Shep gets Wrex while a paragon gets Grunt).
and yes I realized I sort of switched their personalities from ME but it just sort of felt right to me for some reason.
Next up will either be Garrus and Thane or Tali and Liara, haven’t decided yet.

I think your interpretation of their personalities works. Wrex may be a leader in Mass Effect, but in no way does he shy from being hardcore. Grunt's also hardcore, but he's way younger and more impressionable. Thus I can see Grunt trying to go on the straight and narrow, and Wrex compromising nothing for the sake of his goals.
Oh yeah, and the art? Elite. 10/10.

GRUNT: I still am Krogan. I may not follow the ways of the people any longer, but I am a Krogan. To my very core!
WREX: Ha. Nice to see your anger hasn't subsided. Pity you've forsaken your roots. We could have found you a role that was truly worthy of you.
GRUNT: Yes. Truly a pity.
GRUNT: Do you really think fighting and killing is the only future the Krogan have?
WREX: We are Krogan. We have always used violence to solve the way of things.
GRUNT: Maybe it's time for a change then, don't you think? Things cannot last this way forever.
WREX: Bah! I refuse to let a coward and a deserter lecture me on what it means to be a Krogan.
WREX: You claim there's no future for our people. But what future is there for one who deserts all he knows?
GRUNT: I've deserted no one! I've simply opened my eyes and seen that brute force is not the only way.
WREX: And what is the only one, might I ask?
GRUNT: Peace. We can talk and work out our problems using peace, instead of violence.
GRUNT: On my journey, I've seen dozens of people solve their problems just by sitting down and talking. They used, not their fists, but their words to solve a conflict.
GRUNT: People fear the Krogan because they do not understand us. If we showed them that we are capable of peace, then they will accept us.
WREX: Spoken like a true deserter of the Way.
GRUNT: Why do I bother talking to you?

That's interesting - I'd see Grunt and Wrex's story as reversed. Like Grunt wants to be a real krogan so Renegade Shepherd helps him achieve his full violent potential (for his own benefit). And then Wrex would be the Krogan of redemption who wants to do more with his life and for his own people and Paragon Shepherd helps him achieve this.

I know that they aren't trolls or ogres or any number of fantasy beings but to see them redressed in fantasy armor makes.them pop in my mind as innovative new takes on fantasy characters. It's fantastic.

You got the characters persona wrong. Grunt is the one more fit to be the young brash warrior looking for a good fight. Wrex is not opposed to fighting and enjoys it, but he also try to redeem his species before his father tried to killed him. He would fit more like liberator of his species from the Qunari's than bloodthirsty bandit. This is a crossover sure, but changing a character's personality too much is pointless and it's better just coming up with a new one.

I don't doubt you read the base description but you clearly missed the line where I stated "I know I switched their personalities." Had you read that you wouldn't have felt the need to say "You got the characters persona wrong," as I very clearly just stated I was aware of that fact.
As for your opinion on switching a character's personality being pointless I disagree completely as a crossover is an opportunity for the artist to present the character in a new light through physical appearance or attitude. Clinging to their established personality is not required for it to be entertaining.
Not to mention this is a completely alternate universe, for all we know there could be different factors shaping Wrex and Grunt's development. Obsessing over personality traits in something that's not even canon is taking the fun out of it when it's not meant to be probed in scrupulous detail.

Well Wrex was actually one of the most paragon Krogan as he rebuilt there civilization for peace and performed and expressed many paragon ideals contrary to the nature of his race. Grunt on the other hand just wanted to kill things and didn't care what, at least in the beggining. Great job though.
