The angle you've captured this at reminds me of a 3d mindbending toy, or an Escher-like drawing, with all the different right angles.
The fact that it's a lovely scene with beautiful colouring (or black-and-white ing) just makes ten times more awesome!

i've camera in BW mode usually. sometimes i make mistake with colour but i am not power-colour. i don't feel it. But black/white and grey are colours also

This is fabulous! I love how the different shades in the bricks cause the wall to be a single entity and yet not monotonous.
I also adore how the slightly different sizes of the brick make the wall 'ripple' slightly, almost as though there's an optical illusion going on.
The smooth wood of that bench nicely offsets the rough, diverse texture and tone of the bricks. And the placement of the bench is really good too, not the focus but still prominent.
And then there's that little peek-through through the gate with the steps leading up to it.
All in all, an incredible shot! Might I ask where this was taken?

Dickens is more grey but all depends of who illustrated book.
