Description This is how I make my paper beads for some woven keychains. The patterns are for pony beads, which are pretty little plastic beads, which do not exist in my country (even if they do, they're expensive). The idea of making beads wasn't mine, but my friend's. The beads work perfectly with bead-weaving patterns like at makingfriends.com .

You can just use paper, tacky glue and a long lasting spray for the process. There is a lady who has a patented tool for paper beading. I did a blog entry about her on my mommy blog and she sent me a free kit with the tool. I now paper bead like a mad woman...lol.

I know of [link] , but if you search for "pony bead patterns" you'll get a lot more. I usually modify the patterns slightly because I don't use stiff strings. (I have to add more "spines" to the pattern.)

You're very welcome!

that's rad! I'm gonna make some sometime... and maybe coat them in something waterproof... that would be good. Or maybe nail polish? that would make them shiny and waterproof.

Yeah, I've used clear nail polish as varnish before. They make really good varnish, nice and shiny...! Thanks for the favourite, btw...

Cool, thanks for the tutorial. I will show my sister, she loves beads and making necklaces and stuff. I have a Paper -bead necklace and braclet set that my step-uncle made. The way he made it was very similar. He used paper from magazines and used clear wax to dip them in. They look really neat. Thanks again, I shall attempt.

please excuse my bad spelling. Its late and i need to get some sleep.
