Description
First off, allow me to state the obvious and mention how bad of a photo this is.Anyway, pencil perspective drawing, same assignment as the other pen perspective drawing . It's the Taj Mahal, reference picture here: [link] . I obviously left out some stuff, like the pretty patterns in the grass. (I attempted about a quarter of one side of the grass ... and immediately gave up.
The end result is ... okay, I'm proud of some parts and yet, now that I look at it again, the people are kinna blurry and some of the lines are too dark,
A2 size drawing block, Faber-Castell pencils ranging from 2H to ... I dunno, 6B or 8B, and a lotta patience. About two weeks on and off.

phenomenal. The type is a bit similar to something I've done recently, but I think your composition beats mine, hands down.
...on the other hand, you still need to take a better photo of this

Thanks sistah! Huge canvases take some getting used to, but I see the satisfaction of using big papers now. Feels like "real art".

Yep, happens to me too. I always need to clean things up with an eraser afterwards...

beauty. well done! i don't think it matters that the people are blurry... course, my eyes are bad so people are blurry to me half the time anyway!
and i like the first one also. it looks accurate, and it's much more visually interesting than a lot of perspective excercises i've done. what didn't they like about it?

Hahaha! Don't you wear specs, though? I can't last a few minutes without my vision being sharp.
It's not "they", but just my lecturer. She said yeah, the first drawing does have all the elements and stuff that show depth (the texture that gets smaller, repeating elements, the supposedly fading away thing that I accidentally did backwards...), but it's "too boring". Too typical, I think. She also wanted more detail, like the frontmost column should've had it's marble (or whatever) pattern showing, and the second one slightly less, and the third one's barely visible, etc.
