I'm making fun of Booker's kleptomania in this fanfiction I'm writing on my DA page. All of a sudden in his appearance (being a 4-game crossover), he nearly gets poisoned and quickly remembers not to loot everything for food, but randomly digging for stuff still comes in handy later on.
And yeah, all 3 Bioshock's looting system is weird. System Shock 2, its grandaddy, plays it a little safer in that you can choose to consume things one at a time.

The part that baffles me the most is the fact that both Jack, Delta, and Booker have the inhuman ability to instantly consume just about ANYTHING food wise, alcohol wise and and everything else within milliseconds.

Don't forget that these guys are also so hardcore that they are ready to eat anything from the trash can.
They're all like "Ehh, whatever, who cares, the apple isn't rotten yet".
