I think perhaps it's because in alot of girls stories, if they have a female caracter of some kind. If the fan themself is a young girl, then they might make the character young to match, and they might feel a bit odd, to match their character with such an older character, so they trim off a few years of the Medic so it matches up with them. Just a theory, there. Persoanlly I like a bit of white mixed into my medic's hair. Butfans may do what they want. I personally love the way the Medic has a little hint of white along his sideburns. Makes him way cute.
