Description
This is a test shoot with my Canon M100, full spectrum converted camera. I should have read the instruction manual before I tried to take photos.Related content

My computer is being fussy about loading all of your work. I know how tough it is to choose out of our own work when we have looked at them a thousand times. So I hope I have given you a new perspective so you can look at then anew when choosing which to submit. Best of luck.Β

Wow, the stark colors contrast gives this photo such a dramatic feel! Yet the soft look of the clouds makes it feel surreal at the same time.
Very nicely done!!! !!!

Funny that you like it, to me it's too stark.
Thank you!Β

It's the "surrealism" that I like, which, the "contrast", produces. !!

not too bad for a test shot the 720 nm filter shows some colours, no matter how you set the white balance. you only have to pull them out in post, which you obviously did - have fun with your new cam, and keep posting! cheers, rob

Thanks! I did a couple shots with 950 nm filter Saturday, totally different that one. Even bright sunlight isn't enough for totally focused pictures if you're not using tripod.Β

np! ai, 950, that sounds heavy. there's one guy here who shoots with a 1000 nm filter, always dark pics, but interesting, NIR1000. cheers, rob

Yes, I had problems editing them in Photoshop. 720 nm gives a red picture but 950 nm is totally blue.
I am watching him, NIR1000 I mean. Interesting stuff, I might try shooting city views with 950 nm.Β

infrared colours.. i have some experience with a full spectrum converted cam (V2) and various filters, and i am now experimenting with a new one (Z6). you should obviously start with manipulating the white balance (in PS, LR). one thing i found that could help is moving the colour slides in "camera calibration", at least in Lightroom (not sure about P'shop, don't use it); you can make a camera dedicated profile (for each different filter in this case). another option is moving the regular colour slides and storing settings in a preset (again, for each filter). hope this helps! anyway, a lot of experimentation is needed, but that's part of the fun, isn't it? cheers, rob

Thanks for the tips, I definitely try the different setting for different filters. I should get a cheap China UV filter this week, if it's any good I might order a 1000 nm from there too. Well, I don't have high hopes but it was like 100 euros cheaper like the proper ones from US.Β
I have changed the white balance when I have been photographing, a picture of a green grass or leaves and that I have set to custom white balance. So I might try that with a different approach too. Yes, infrared photographing is a lot of fun.

Thank you! I am glad that you liked this, I realised after these pictures that I had the wrong settings on the camera.
It was on the video recording mode instead of picture taking, so I hope that in the future I'll take better pictures.Β
