Been working on my portfolio. Made these images for a Digital Clean-up position on Farily Odd Parents. Sadly it looks like all the positions have already been filled but it was a good experience. Problem is I can't watch Farily Odd Parents now without noticing the little differences in each character. Tell me what you think.Related content

i wonder if the people and places that actually do the animation can show it on their TV...
i could just imagine it would be like one of us watching like an indian cartoon and not know what they hell was going on...

Some do. Cartoon Network is no longer allowed to be shown in China but that's all I know.
Even though the animation isn't done as much here, truth is a lot of people don't want the job anymore... though it does close out a lot of the intro jobs for the college grads like me

...wait no i dont... i think they SHOULD have it here because people need to know what that is like! if all people experience are the "special" jobs then get lazier and lazier. then all the other animators in the other countries are kicking ass learning all of our special techniques and whatever and then THEY become the ulitimate amazingness with animation...
..honestly i am a little confused myself about what i just wrote...

Heh I'm afraid that's pretty much what's happening in our society with most jobs. We're becoming pickier about jobs and sending them over seas to people who are more willing to take them for less pay.
The fact of the matter is it's cheaper for studios to make more shows if they send them over seas. I personally suck at the actual process of animation so it's no skin off my nose, but there are many very talented animators out there. Usually the original animation process is learned during an animator's schooling now. That's what happened for me at least. Animated features still have a majority of the keyframe animation done over here by artists working under the Gods such as Glen Keane. However, most animated series are now animated over seas because it's cheaper. Even a majority of 3D animation is done over in India or in northern Europe nowadays. That's just the way media seems to be heading.

i know that its cheaper. im just frustrated because i WANT to get experience in my field, but it seems like the only positions available are the super advanced positions that you have to have already had a ton of experience for. i want to be able to say, "HIRE me because i KNOW for a fact that i can do what you need me to do..." but i dont know if i can do that right now...
though i am confident enough to say that i KNOW for a fact that i can do what they need me to do, and if i cant do it that i can figure out how to do it...

Yes all of the above characters are mine... well actually if we want to be technical the colored man in the straight jacket belongs to but it's more just a cameo appearance that I did for fun
