Description
Wanted to do some experimental stuff and a landscape. I've done so much little detail stuff at work that I just wanted to make something loose. Which is actually kind of hard for a control freak like me.I've been doing a lot of sketching lately too and it'll be fun to paint something out of my drawings too when I buy a scanner.
I'm so glad I finished fable II the ending sucked and I'm glad I got rid of it. It never really had a chance to impress me because I just finished playing Persona 4 before it. I think P4 is one of my all time favourite games alongside Ocarina of Time and Longest Journey. I'm lucky if I find a game as good as Persona 4 in the next 5 years.

Awe-inspiring. Just goes to show that something doesn't have to be perfect in order for it to come to life.
Have you tried Twilight Princess yet?
Ocarina and Twilight are my favorite Zelda games.

Shadows are what you make of them.

the sky makes me think of one of my favorite songs "blue and yellow" (psh. i wonder why)
and the lighting is so...perfect.
oh, and i so agree with the ending of fable II. but i do think the rest was not bad.
Xo.

Jeez, that looks like traditional art. I could have sworn pastels were used alongside something else.

I did mention that I used gauche to paint most of this. I should do it more often because it was pretty fun. In digital form you can avoid the problems of gauche as a color because it looks very dead and dull irl compared to oil. (I'm sure I'll be flamed by some traditional fanatic by saying this.)

Neat, I love the texture and lighting in this piece. Reminds me of the loose pastel sketches that were on the Pixar exhibitions.
And it wasn't just the ending that sucked in fable two. I just don't get why I bothered to play it all the way through, it's a mystery.

Hey great it's you! Okay now I'm going to say something I meant to note to you ages ago: Your paintings at the school exhibition were all beautiful. I'm waiting to see what you all do during your final year. Remember to invite me to the exhibition dammit!
I'm glad somebody went to the Pixar-thing from our school! I remember raving about it to our teachers to usher the students go to that thing. I'm sure I was ignored.
To be fair I think renting houses in Fable was pretty fun. And the sun rays never failed to look pretty. (what I wouldn't give for our coders to do some god-rays...) Anyway it was all way over-hyped to be such an average game.

Thanks . I'll be sure to invite you to the final one, but I'm pretty sure the teachers have a mailing list of old students going on as well.
Actually, I think your pleas didn't fall to deaf ears, since it was a class assigment from tuija to go to the pixar exhibition! I had been there once already before we got the assignment, but I went again just because it was so awesome.
I guess I was so dissapointed with how everything related to a female character was completely and utterly ugly in fable II, and that the two player feature was just extremely boring and clumsy that everything else paled to that . I think I did like some of the scenery tho.
I'm in a hurry to get most of my work painted during the summer, since I got an internship at digital chocolate starting in the autumn. Wish me luck .

Well that sounds like an impossible feat to accomplish in such a short period of time. I kept painting my stuff until the very last week, because I constantly saw stuff I wanted to make better or just made new stuff that would make the collection more cohesive.
Btw congratulations on your internship I'll note you.

Nice, I particularly like the white brush strokes on the water. You can't really tell what is traditional and what digitally painted. Well done!

Ocarina of Time and Persona 4 have that special something that can't be replicated. P4s story is like a good book that can't be written again. Thanks for the comment.

Painted it mostly with gouache on cardboard, then went over some bits with wet media brushes in pscs2.
