Description
Stamp message: I block the Comment Box for: "Adorable," "Cute," "Great job," and "KAWAII!" Please stop typing that. What can I say? The stamp speaks for itself.
Let’s face it. I have seen myself (or maybe you too) draw for more than enough hours and after all that time and effort I finally upload my art feeling confident on my accomplishments. But wait, what's this? What do I get? Not even the first five minutes I get the vague and/or "one-word" comments. I don’t know why but this always seems to bother me; it feels like most of my watchers don’t really care for what I draw or those who don’t watch just don’t care. Whatever their case this lack of attention staggers me. The feeling of discouragement astounds me. The continuous one-comment (and vague) compliments made me lose my confidence to drawing; I began to draw less and less— and I'm not even near the art block.
Most artists love to see comments that will make one laugh, think, and laugh again, or both. Others' favor critiques, and those will vary with person to person— only a few accept critiques; an artist improves by commenting constructive thoughts and suggestions; be creative with your comments and/or be thoughtful, or be funny and/or creative.
However, this stamp isn't really about me and my art; I actually have a good friend of mine— who is a far better artist than I will ever be— who receives vague comments on her art. I swear, she spends so much MORE time than I do— from a few days to even over a week on piece of art— and after all that time she receives is the “one-word” comment on her art by her own empty watchers. I do love her art as it is my personal favorite style; she draws breathtaking pieces of art (both digitally and traditionally drawn) with so much time and effort put into it. And yet it is unfair to her that nobody seems to comment anything better on her art. I began comment on her art that she submits from time to time. From here I do write my longest comments (that I always do enjoy) for her.
Now, I'm not saying you have to go comment long ass comments. She doesn't mind if a comment is only one sentence long. But just the one-word comment really deprives a few. Don't you see that? I feel like they don't care about our art. And they only leave a comment to show that they "care" for it.
After all, and above all, this is DeviantART. Aren't we all supposed to comment longer comments about the art? Never mind, things have changed after a while. Just that one word, ONE WORD COMMENTS, do not help.
I had seen more opinions pop up recently, a fave is different in my opinion. At least you FAVE it; you like what you saw. But think about this! You FAVE it is like you commented and left. Remember, you will forget what you favorite and move on with your lives.
And so, again, the stamp speaks for itself -w-

...I guess I kinda understand where you're coming from but I don't mind one-word comments. This just shows they actually looked at your photos. I always reply back and then they reply back with even more descriptive comments on why they like the pic. I always get happy even for that one word comment ^_^

Ugh, tell me about it, I used to appreciate one word comments but they're starting to get on my nerves, I may not be a great artist or anything but I spend time on my drawings, later on my arm starts to hurt then I have to take a break, once I'm done, I submit it, waiting for comments and all I get is "Cool" and "Awesome!" and I just want to reply "Dude... just... no... no one word comment, it seriously annoys the hell out of me." or smash the keyboard in rage, like seriously, I'd rather hide one word comments from now on. -_-;

Right now, when people leave one word comments like "Cool" "Nice" "Awesome" Or some text smiley, I tell them it's not a real comment and that it's gonna be hidden. I'd rather a short sentence and not a single word.

I say a simple comment is better than no comment at all, but I can understand where you're coming from.
Instead of focusing as much on how many well-written comments you get, shouldn't it be more about drawing because it makes you happy? Sorry, super cheesy sounding...
Hey, at least you were willing to allow comments on this deviation. So many stamps out there disable comments for one reason or another. I haven't looked through your gallery, but sometimes being more descriptive in the artist's comments (exactly like what you did for this stamp) can help start up a conversation and get a feel for what is appropriate to say/not say about the work.

Well, in a way you are right. Maybe seeing a well-written comment shouldn't make me happy. What if they did a bad comment? I wouldn't be smiling, right? XDD But all in all, I get what you mean
Maybe I am a super cheesy bastard that turned to mold on DA
Sometimes I don't have to add anything in the artist description. Shouldn't the art and title say it all by itself?
Oh well, nobody can have a perfect gallery with the right watchers =\

I think you have a good point. People draw because they usually are better at expressing themselves with it, as opposed to writing.

Except this one, I see you had read what I had said! (why thank ya!)

THANKS. I have this problem too, and it's so annoying! I spend (as you've explained) hours on a drawing and then, suddenly: Good job.
Im always thinking: "Oh please, shut up already. That's not helpful at all. Why even comment? A fave and a comment like this, well...that's still okay, but only a comment with cute? Are you shitting me? Like if I draw a girl in a chibish style I wouldn't know that she looked cute? Don't you say?"

OMG KAWAII DESU! I'm sorry, I was tempted.
On a serious note, I agree with you. Sure, compliments are nice, but they don't help me expand as an artist. It kind of irks me that when I read the critiques of a certain deviation, and some of them are barely critiques. What I mean is, some of these "critiques" here on dA are only complimenting the artist's piece in a long ass paragraph, rather than indicating the good AND the bad aspects of the image. But that's another story, I suppose.
I, for one, appreciate receiving well thought out constructive criticism/critiques from more experienced artists (I always ask for it on my serious submissions). Their wisdom motivates me to learn, improve, and grow.

..... You forgot "AWESOME" aaand "XD" (yeah, actually some people comment "XD" even if the picture has a macabre/sad/serious theme)
Well, i agree that when you get too much of them, you get tired of it but I think there's nothing you can do apart of blocking the comment box or dealing with them oooor just don't replying to them... I still reply to all comments hahah Anyway, nice stamp, i like the gradient tones you used

"Kawaii" was cute when I first joined dA. Now it's just annoying. Grow up and learn how not to be a weeaboo who only says "kawaii" on every deviation you find cute.
Actually type a well thought out comment.
"I like you stamp. The background makes the text stand out well, and the word kawaii is done in a different font than the rest of it so it stands out more. Makes it more noticeable. This is a well done stamp that I know I'll use."
Use your brains! You have one, so use it for something other than the word "kawaii."

I know what it's like. Well, duh, I made the stamp. But I usually am not strict when they do type that. I just either type a random word: "contingent" or "lemme" because they are so random.
I do find the one-word comments annoying, but I hope my random word annoys them as well.
