Word of advice: Don't. Bring. the Spacemarine. Onto. the Normandy.

And why is that?

Garrus/Tali/Thane/Grunt/Samara: "Hello"

Space marine: "Purge the unclean! kill the xeno's!!"

Heck, the Imperium of Man would declare the entire Alliance heretics the moment it found out about aliens and The Alliance being friends with some of them:

Space Marine: "You date the filthy xeno Tali-Zora? Purge!!"

So that is the reason?..... Okay then.
(Later warns the Inquisition.)

Believe me, I love both universes (though not Humanity in the WH40K) but I prefer the aliens in Warhammer. They just seem more like the modern human, while the Warhammer humans remind me of either Comminists (guard with their Red Army tactics) or Nazis (Space Marines with their 'kill everything different' rule)

The Inquisition though, are a bunch of unsympathetic people.

Actually, if the militaries used modern tactics instead of WW1 suicide charges, the reapers would've been boned, besides, it's established lore-wise that reapers couldn't widhstand a nuke, so load some up on shield bypassing dones, n watch the fireworks

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

2kinds In reply to SuperNinjaNub [2013-01-02 19:13:01 +0000 UTC]

True, but i think it would be a bit more badass with space marines. Commander Shepard is suddenly the leader of a chaper or a company captain. It also makes for much more armor customization.

But your point is valid. Less idiotic charges.

SuperNinjaNub In reply to 2kinds [2013-01-02 19:59:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Space Marines vs reapers would've been neat as well
then again space marines would've kicked the reapers back to outer space and all the way to the andromeda galaxy

You guys do realise Space Marines come with fanatical religion and xenophobia, meaning Turians, Quarians and Asasris and Voluses and Salarians and any other alien species would probably have been exterminated along with the Reapers right? I mean, the badass raw power of a Space Marines and crazy zealous faith in their religion is kind of a packaged deal.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SuperNinjaNub In reply to xxMrBrownstone [2013-12-09 18:25:45 +0000 UTC]

"badass" really isn't a word i'd use to describe someone who cowers behind armour and stomps down on infinitely inferior enemy forces, but okay

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

xxMrBrownstone In reply to SuperNinjaNub [2013-12-09 18:48:14 +0000 UTC]

That isn't something I'd say to a Space Marine's face, and I don't think I'd call the forces they face "infinitely inferior" given that Space Marines are usually madly outnumbered in a fight (you try facing down a hundreds of thousands strong Ork WAAAAAAAAGH with only a few dozen buddies at your back. Plus Space Marines also have to tussle with the forces of Chaos which includes similarly armed and armoured foes, ie: the Chaos Space Marines). You could say a Space Marine can take down pretty much anything in the 40K Universe one on one, but it is exceedingly rare that a Space Marien faces any threat one on one. Also Necrons.Β

If you meant those things about Space Marines fighting in the ME Universe well then that is a different matter and I do see where you're coming from.Β Although that raises the question, in this hypothetical scenario do we assume the Space Marines are native to the ME Universe or do we assume they were transported there by some heretical artifact or eldricht powers of the warp or something along those lines? In the former of these possibilities it would mean they're familiar with Mass Effect technology, but at the same time their weapons and armour and training are tools built within this world and thus accessible to any other force, making your statement about ''infinitely inferior enemy forces'' incorrect as everyone else would ahve access to the same gear and training the Marines did. In the latter they are not and as such they do not know how to deal with or counter mass effect users. Additionally if the Space Mariens were transported to the ME Universe we have no idea what effect Mass Effect using weaponry would have on their armour, and what efefct bolter weapons would have on theΒ shieldsΒ and barriers used by soldiers in the Mass Effect UniverseΒ making your statement about ''infinitely inferior enemy forces'' a statement with no basis in fact.

and it's hilarious that you write some incredibly long paragraph because i think space marines are pussies

xxMrBrownstone In reply to SuperNinjaNub [2013-12-09 19:05:44 +0000 UTC]

Ah. Well you are evidently a far braver soul than I. Although if I were to say it at their face I would probably piss at their feet too, but probably not voluntarily.

Yes. I thought I caught a whiff, perhaps a suggestion of your regards of the Emperor's AngelsΒ beingΒ as such. Glad you cleared that up with so eloquent and distinct a response.

Good talk buddy. Let's do it again some day.
