Wellll, this was finished earlier this week, for my final in Life Drawing II. The assignment was to create a composition using two figure, keeping in mind the figure-plane relationship. Since it's difficult to find a friend to model for you, let alone TWO, me and my classmates decided to model for each other. We met two weekends in a row, ordered pizza, and modelled and drew. So these are two of my classmates. Evette was much more fun to draw, and I spent much more time on her, as you can probably tell. The image looks VERY orange, because the original is. I drew this on yellowish fabriano paper, because they had run out of the color I wante to buy at the art store. I rubbed charcoal overtop for a ground layer, and then used the subtractive method to bring out the initial highlights. So with that, and the tan and brown conte pencils I put over it, this turned into an orangish piece.... which I didn't mind until I photographed it and put it on my computer. The camera made it even MORE orange. So i'm sorry. There are glares from the camera.... beh, it just looks awful on the computer..... oh well. In person, i'm pleased with it. I achieved a really good likeness. The kids in my class were like "WOW, it looks just like Evette", so that's good.
So yeah, this is the last of my life drawing class posts.... I enjoyed working on them.
