Description 10 years ago, Adventure Time, the cartoon that brought Cartoon Network out of its dark age, premiered. Before the show premiered, Cartoon Network was in a REALLY bad spot when they did something that completely went against what they stood for: they ran a block consisting of live-action reality shows called CN Real, and it was heavily lambasted by people everywhere because of how out-of-place it is on a channel that's literally called CARTOON Network. I also remembered when the show actually started on a program run by Nickelodeon called Random! Cartoons, which was a collection of pilot shorts by new and upcoming creators in hopes that they would become the next best cartoon. Fun fact, the two pilots that Pendleton Ward created, Adventure Time and The Bravest Warriors, ended up becoming full series (with AT being a TV show and TBW being an internet cartoon). When Adventure Time premiered on April 5, 2010, it was praised by critics everywhere, and people knew that this would be a revolutionary cartoon.

As for my viewing experience, I can definitely say that I had a lot of fun with this show. What made the show so enjoyable for me is how slice-of-life the show feels, as it's just about a kid and his magical dog doing whatever they can to get a sense of excitement. However, my enjoyment started to dwindle around the 5th or 6th season, which is when it started to become a heavily-serialized show. Watching the show at that point felt like a chore, as it required me to watch every episode in order to understand certain plot points that happen. Keep in mind that because of my dwindling interest, I skipped out on many episodes, and I don't have any plans to see them. Regardless of the episodes I skipped, that won't stop me from calling this one of the most revolutionary shows to ever premiere in the 2010 decade, as it helped open the door to many cartoonists to create their own show, with Rebecca Sugar creating Steven Universe being the biggest example. I also heard that there's going to be a short spin-off called Distant Lands. Hope it lives up to the success of the original show once HBO Max launches.

Here are my top 10 favorite episodes of the show:
1. Be More
2. From Bad to Worse
3. Memory of a Memory
4. One Last Job
5. The Creeps
6. King Worm
7. Puhoy
8. Five More Short Graybles
9. Another Five More Short Graybles
10. Burning Low

Honorable mentions:
-Business Time
-Holly Jolly Secrets
-Dad's Dungeon
-Five Short Graybles
-All the Little People
-Jake the Dad
-Simon & Marcy
-Come Along with Me

Hope you enjoyed my dedication piece to Adventure Time, and here's to doing Regular Show (a show I enjoyed much more) when September arrives.

This show was way too flawed and overrated. The show tries way too hard, most of the main characters are annoying and unlikeable idiots, and it's unpredictable and weird in lazy ways.

Steven Universe is way better.

Arguably the first series that helped define animation in the 2010s. I was only finishing my 6th grade year when it started. Remembering that makes me feel like I’m too old to watch cartoons now, but I don’t care.

But in reality, Adventure Time is not as good a show as most people say it is.

Dude, what the hell are you doing? You only had to comment once explaining your thoughts on the show. What’s the deal with responding to all other commenters with the same thing? What makes you think we want to hear it?

So glad that show isn't around anymore. They take things way too seriously than they needed to anywhere.

It honestly wasn't that great a show and people took it way too seriously. I swear that show was meant to be a parody of serious shows.
