Description SUBMIT YOUR DEMO REEL!!!

It's time to show off your stuff, your best stuff. With this activity we're going to assemble demo reels from all around the club!

So send in your demo reel, give us a link to it, preferably something low bandwidth (Quicktime Movie). If you need hosting, message me (:devvespan) and I can upload it for you. You are encouraged to write a little about your demo reel: Strengths & Weaknesses, and tricks and techniques.

Having everybody's demo reel in one place can be an excellent opportunity to both show off our stuff, and to teach our junior members how to put together a good demo reel. This is also a great chance to get some good C&C on your demo reels too! So don't hesitate, send it in!!

My Reel (34megs)

This is my final demo reel from my portfolio class at school. It's about 4months old and some of the stuff on there makes me cringe. I really want to make a new one to focus more on the traditional 2d stuff.

hahaha that's pretty sweet! your low-res walkcycle is kickass. The grandma part wasnt very good though... but the rest was very sweet. Also, the alien dude design is just extremely sweet. I LOVE teeths like that

traditionally demo reels are to be between 1 and 2 minutes long, grabbing the viewer's attention and showing your best work in the first 10-30 seconds.

have it finished whenever you want really.
this will be a bit of an ongoing project. we may do some activites with this, but the deviation with the links to reels will stay up and we'll always accept new entries and revisions.

flash is fine. remember, a demo reel should be about 1-2 minutes and show your best stuff in the first 10-30 seconds.

i'm working on mine right now, and i wanted to look at some other people's reels, plus i remembered i haven't done anything with the club in a while, so bang! two birds, one stone. everybody's happy

we could even have a bit of a contest afterwards and elect the top 3 reels or something.

i've been tossing around the idea for a da animators webpage... if that happens, we could post demo reels on it too and it would be good exposure for those artists

a demo reel is a short compliation of all your best work--an animation portfolio.
it's a quick flashy movie that shows off all your best skills.

try quicktime compression using sorenson3 or mpeg4 and it will be small enough no prob.
