My last Omniart contest entry. With this, I'll either win gold, silver or bronze, and with all of them I'll be happy. We were asked to create a scene from a game and give it elements of a real-life musical with a similar scene. This is The Dance in Final Fantasy 8 with a heavy influence of the masquerade ball in Phantom of the Opera. Starring Rinoa as Christine, Squall as Raoul, and Seifer as the Phantom.Related content

THE DRESS! THE DRESS! Wow, it's all so gorgeous. I can't believe your attention to detail. I can't see how you could improve this in any way (though I don't really like the thought of a blond Phantom).

lol. I've been asked for tutorials before. The only problem is that I often don't have just one way of doing things, and I also switch between three different programs- making writing a tutorial both extremely difficult and not being able to be followed very well. XD

Oh my god! FF8 was the first I ever played, and I thought the graphics were AWESOME....
This is also awesome, I remember this the most vividly from so long ago. ^^

Awesome, everybody looks stunning here. I love how took all the dancers from Final Fantasy 8 and gave them Phantom of the Opera-styled clothes instead.
Rinoa looks beautiful here, and Squall and Seifer looks great.

First of all, bravo for such a creative idea! The dance scene in FF8 is one of my favorite game moments and "The Phantom of the Opera" areis one of my favorite musicals, so to see them merged together like this makes me go squee with joy.
It's so much fun to look at the contrast between simplicity and detail in this picture. All the dresses look bold, colorful, and elegant in their swatches of solid color; but in contrast the women's hair looks very detailed, such as the ringlets and jeweled updo. The little touches on Rinoa's dress, such as the gloves and the lace, make her stand out even more. I love the way you've captured Squall, too: his hair looks fabulous, and he certainly looks amazing in that uniform! Having Seifer as the Phantom is just ingenious to me - I got a giggle from that. The background scenery seems to keep up the simple/complex dual theme: big red curtains and white floor, and ornate golden chandeliers. It works very well to create a feeling of luxury, mystery, and romance.
