The long-awaited pattern to go along with my barn owl plush tutorial. Sorry it took so long! As it turns out, senior year at my university is crazy busy...
Anyways, I apologize for how messy it is... I've had the various bits and pieces lying around for a while now, and only recently had the time to compile them and make modifications. A few notes:
-I decided the face would have a more realistic shape if both the head front piece and the face plate had an outward-facing seam down the front. A matching modification was made to the head back piece.
-If you prefer how the wing looked on my original one and not v. 2.0, then instead of doing the longest wing feather attached to the wing base, stub the wing base and do a separate wired feather for the longest one. You can also make all the feathers shorter for the more cutesy, less realistic wings.
-All modifications were done without having a chance to test them, and a few of the pieces were drawn after the plushie was finished, so this may require some minor tweaking. Nothing major, so you should be fine to just cut out all the pieces and tweak them as you go along.

If you want to make a SNOWY OWL instead of a BARN OWL, here are some tips!
Members of the family Tytonidae (i.e. the barn owls) have those lovely heart shaped faces, since they have two separate facial disks. Members of the family Strigidae, like snowies, don't! So you'll have to modify the face a bit. I suggest making the head a bit shorter and rounder, then cutting two circles (instead of two half-hearts). They'll just go around the eyes, with the beak sticking out from the bottom, rather than the beak being in the middle like on a barn owl. I hope that makes sense! A few other little differences, too- snowy owl tails are rounded, instead of the inverted V shape of the barn owl, and their wings are a bit shorter and more rounded, not quite so pointed. Those things will make it look less like a barn owl and more like a snowy. ^_^

I made this loosely based on your pattern (and linked back to you on my website). I love barn owls, but my friend wanted a great horned owl for his birthday. I love the way you did the wings, with the separate feathers. I also REALLY love your barn owl face, but I had to kind of make up the horned owl face as I went along. It turned out pretty cartoony.

OH MY GOODNESS that is adorable! Yeah, barn owls and true owls have very different faces, but I think it turned out pretty well. Ah ha, this has totally made my day.

Me, too! I will tell you the same thing I told a few other people who wanted to make a Harry Potter prop, since this is a barn owl and not a snowy owl.
Members of the family tytonidae (i.e. the barn owls) have those lovely heart shaped faces, since they have two separate facial disks. Members of the family strigidae, like snowies, don't. So you'll have to modify the face a bit... To convert this pattern to a snowy owl:
I suggest making the head a bit shorter and rounder, then cutting two circles (instead of two half-hearts). They'll just go around the eyes, with the beak sticking out from the bottom, rather than the beak being in the middle like on a barn owl. I hope that makes sense! A few other little differences, too- snowy owl tails are rounded, instead of the inverted V shape of the barn owl, and their wings are a bit shorter and more rounded, not quite so pointed. Those things will make it look less like a barn owl and more like a snowy. ^_^

It's not as hard as it looks! A little patience is all it takes. ^_^ There are pictures and directions in the tutorial in the artist's comments, too.
