More critters from my setting! Turians are kind of mix between a big cat and a reptile, in fact they are therapsids. They are warm-blooded, covered with fur and lay eggs (some species are ovoviviparous). They don't have an external ears, so they don't hear very well, their eyesight is bad too, but they have a very sensitive nose and mobile appendages on their muzzle with which they orient themselves. Another distinctive feature is the retractable claws on the paws, allowing them to climb tall trees. The ancient forms of the turans were a transitional link between reptiles and mammals, and at the moment there lives a more modern version of these animals that successfully occupied the niche of the major scavengers in the Ismaar. Turans have quite a lot of subspecies, distinguished mainly in size, color and habitat.

Роскошный концепт. Дизайн очень интересный вышел, особенно головы. Мне нравится идея смешения образов кошачьих и рептилий, образ вполне себе настоящего переходного варианта, даже чисто с точки зрения дизайна. Зубы и общая форма челюстей показывают их эффективный примитивизм, эдакие реликты Исмаара. Большие, разнобойные зубы с отличным потенциалом для удерживания и разрывания мяса, проглатывания кусков не жуя. Тяжёлые мощные челюсти. Общие очертания. Что интересно, чувствуется немного даже крисиных черт в самих движениях, припадающая к земле манера перебежек, добавляет впечатления вороватой натуры падальщика, мусорщика, тянущего всё, что плохо лежит. Либо, если размеры позволяют, отжать чужую добычу. Крупная грудная клетка и сильные лапы создают впечатление очень выносливых существ. Окрасы такие все разные и интересные, сразу начинаешь думать, какой вид турана где живёт, леса, каменистые пустоши, красивые маскировочные окрасы и разная длина меха. Усы хороши как и сигнальный механизм, так и как орган чувств. И самое главное им идёт, подходит к форме головы. Гармоничные, классные животные нарисованные не менее здорово. И фон, не могу не отметить фон. Сцена с одной стороны - научная иллюстрация, наглядно показано поведение, среда, вариации, с другой - много взаимодействия, жизни, пространства. Чем дальше от зрителя, тем более диким становится пространство. Вся сцена запечатлена будто бы фотоловушкой, специально установленной, специально была брошена тушка кабары, специально подготовленная для наблюдения площадка. Очень здорово

На самом деле эта сцена была сделана под вдохновением от иллюстраций которые очень часто можно встретить в различных энциклопециях про животных, где на одной картинке можно сидеть и часами разглядывать разных зверей и птиц, спрятанных в листве среди веток и на земле среди травы. Одно из самых запоминающихся вещей в моем детстве это именно такие энциклопеции, которые были засмотрены мною до дыр XD не было в нашем детстве интернетов.
Но я рада, что эти тварюхи тебе понравились :3

Nope. The main sources of inspiration were catfishes and synapsids.

I knew that they were influenced by synapsids (including therapsids). I just thought maybe you got catfish barbs to make them look like Chinese dragons or other mythological creatures from China with similar facial details as the dragon.
