Description
A spiral I made in Apo today... actually my first. I worked on this a long time and still am not entirely pleased with it. The right half looks good to me... the left half seems a little rough. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for looking!
Hugs,
Anj

Wow... someone else made a comment similar to that. Interesting. Now I'm going to have to take another look. I love fractals for that reason... there are so many things to see and each person sees it a little differently.

Before you... it might have been in one of the responses to my response... not sure... but someone else mentioned something a lot like that... hmmm... lots of "some's" there.... I'd better check on my grammar!

Thank you, dear... I appreciate the compliment! As I said, I wasn't really happy with the left side... but, for a first I suppose it's all right.

thats ok
maybe you should devide them and put then on something or divide them and make them both a matching pair.

Well, if I do post editing work then I could do that.. but I like to try to make the fractal just as it is.. and I'm not sure how I could do that in the fractal itself.

im guessing problems with the file type?

anjaleck In reply to mtrais [2007-02-14 05:01:06 +0000 UTC]
No, just the fractal itself. I don't like the way the left side turned out kinda raggedy rather than smooth like the right side... but everything I tried to fix it only made the problem worse.
Thanks for replying, Mohammed.

I'm not seeing "rough". I'm seeing pretty, although the red in the gradient is a tad overpowering. ZSteve gave you some excellent advice.

anjaleck In reply to Fractoid [2007-02-13 18:53:27 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! Where I saw rough was at the tips of the left side... they are ragged rather than smooth. And yes, the orange was overpowering - and when I tried to tone it down, the rest of the fractal faded out. ARGHHHH... maybe this was just a bad gradient for this fractal. In the overly bright orange part, though, I felt that there was a "roughness" there that wasn't on the other side.
Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm trying. *smiles*

Well, I notice that a lot when I use Apophysis. The left half of the picture will always be brighter than the right half. I can't explain why, it just happens. Try what zsteve said, and do some postwork on your flame. It should look good in no time. It looks good anyways, in my opinion.
Nice job!

Interesting and thank you for the information! I do the post processing but I've never done post work in another program. Guess I will have to learn how to do that, hmmm?
Thank you again, I really appreciate it!

Awww.. thank you, dear! I appreciate the compliment!!! I really do feel there's something wrong with the left side of the fractal. The colors are too bright and the form is too thick - as compared to the right side.
Again, honey, thank you so much for the compliment!

Thank you, Quwinz! Yup... gotta please myself. And I wasn't entirely please with this one. The left side, if you look closely, is a bit "fringie" on the tips and the orange area isn't as smooth as I would want it to be.
