Great use of color and very realistic. I love the way that it looks simple and yet still super-detailed; very like nature in the way that it's just a beautiful bird, but it's frozen in time on paper. I always love the sort of wistful look that watercolor lends to a painting; as if it's frozen there for just a minute and if you blink, it might just wash away. That whole watercolor quality sort of makes the work have a very much 'conservation' feel if you know what I mean. Overall, it's a beautiful work of art. Did you copy a picture, draw from life, or just from your head?

I have a lot of my own photos of these birds and I used some of them as a reference. This picture is not a copy, but something like combination of these photos. These birds are so fast, that I still have not managed to photograph them clear))
