Wow!
My favorite is the Asian guy in street clothes, fifth from left; sometimes human subtleties intrigue me more than the dramatic stuff, and he's definitely the one I'd most want to know more about.
Your fan, as always,

Hi! I just saw your comment and wanted to say that the Asian man in street clothes, fifth from the left, was one of my characters I commissioned her to make a reference for ^_^ In fact, the two horned males to his right is actually his other form with two different outfits and were also commissioned by me for reference. I also own the two to the Asian male's left, and the one with the bullwhip. If you have questions about my OC's, I'd be more than happy to answer them through note. Anndr was nice enough to help bring these characters from my novels to life for me, and I am very happy when people take interest in their designs and story

Oops! I don't think I ever responded to your message about your characters in Anndr's art set fav.me/d8803xz
They all look like really interesting characters but that middle one in street clothes is my favorite, and he intrigues me most because we can't tell what he's thinking or feeling.
I was unfortunately born long enough ago (1957) that by the time Americans got to see much anime (Japanese OR American), I was too old to internalize the art style entirely. I mean, I do love some anime (favorites probably being Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, some Weiss Kreutz, and anything by Miyazaki), but I still can't see through the art style to react the way I do to real people, and I regret that deeply.
So, for example, your horned & white-haired characters probably have a lot of race/attitude/personality clues in every detail, but they're opaque to me. And the bullwhip guy looks like, y'know, any crazy sadistic demon-guy. But the long-haired man in street clothes is nothing but human (to the eye, at least), so all I can guess about him comes from expression and stance and clothes, and that intrigues me; my eyes try to read the signals.
I don't know whether the sideways stance was yours or Anndr's, but it implies a certain wary distance, as does his expression and sidelong look. I can't tell whether the metal collar is fashion, technology, or slave wear; whether his ripped sleeve is fashion, being too poor to replace it, or a sexual come-on; ditto for the open-topped boots and long tied-back hair. But all of it says "Go away. You don't know me. Leave me alone." And that's always intriguing.
So this is the most fascinating character in this group, and one of the most fascinating characters that even Anndr's drawn (and she's drawn some pretty interesting ones). I'd love to hear more about him if you're in the mood, but if not I'll just enjoy the mystery.
Anyway, sorry it's taken me this long to respond; it's been a busy year.

Aww, don't worry about taking a long time to respond ^_^ Also, I really enjoyed commissioning her to paint some of my characters. She really worked well with the references I gave her. Also, you have a great choice of anime. I love many different types of anime, but personally, my favorites are mostly horror. 👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Now, the series that my characters are from is a series that is still in progress. I am writing a total of two series, the first being the (Im)moral Element series, and the second (which is what these characters are from) is called the (In)human Element series. Btw, I do want to mention that the collar is not simply fashion, but without giving too many spoilers, I will say that it does hinder him but it is something he is forced to wear. About the human looking version of my character, it is an illusion he casts our realm (since demons exist in a realm parallel to our own in both my series, and can only effect us humans physically if we give them the power). The clothes and the person he chooses to identify as is based on 1) a need to blend into his surroundings, and 2) it is someone he knew in his past.
I am kind of busy at the moment, but I thought it was super nice for you to get back to me, so I quickly typed this info up for you. I actually have a visual poem that I wrote in dedication to my character Kyo (the one in the normal street clothes, and of course his true form which are the two references to his right). It depicts the time when he was a prisoner to Envy, working within its underground freakshow as both a slave and medic. He met one of my main cast, a human child named Jen who had the abilities of a healer. I'll include the link below if you're interested, because I also have some additional quick info in the description (although, they are spoilers... Didn't have the heart to erase it once I wrote what I did in the description, but then again, my stories won't all be published until several years since I plan to publish my first series, and then my second. I like to finish a series before publishing).
Of Doves and Crows❀❦✿
"Of Doves and Crows"
————————————————————————————————————
In which the child of light looks to the demon of light and says,
"I am lost,"
and full of confliction and melancholy, the demon replies,
"As long as you tread, you shall find your way."

Cool! Sounds like they have a fascinating and complex interaction.
Gotta go; I'm plotting evil things for my poor players tomorrow, and if I don't get it right they won't enjoy being miserable.
Thanks for the details!
