Description
Drawing horse heads are so much fun but it felt pretty boring to post them one by oneThat is why I merged these four smaller images that I made into one single piece
Made with color pencils.

Percherons are my favorite!
What will help with the chubby cheeks is to get rid of that line on the top of them (under the eye). The cheek should blend into the face, like ours!
Of course, I doubt I could draw anything this good in fifteen years, much less fifteen minutes! So who am I to critique?
I'll go crawl back under my rock, now.

Thanks for the comment. Good critic is the best way to improve I did notice that I put pretty much focus on the cheeks by adding too much highlights and shadows there. I'll try to keep that in mind for the next time I draw a horse
I like all kind of heavy horses I have a thing for Shires especially. Got to ride one a couple of years ago and it was so cozy (it was a bother getting up and down though
)

oh wow, the muscles and lines in them look amazing~
love the flow of their hair! my favourite is the chestnut brown one, but love the pink nose of the pale one - they all look as though they could be in a book!

They are so chubby and shiny!
I loved it! You combined the heads in such a natural way that it looks like you actually have drawn them together!
Congrats!

Thanks you!
I'm glad that the heads where able to fit together so good otherwise I probably wouldn't have posted it at all

Wow, this is incredible!! My fave is the bottom-left horse with the blue eyes.
Great concept, and brilliantly coloured, Annie!

Wow, that's an interesting composition. The cheeks are very chubby but I'm guessing you did that on purpose.

Thanks! Chubby cheeks on horses is more of a bad habit for me, hehe. Need to work on that

They're so wonderful, especially the brown and the golden one. I like the blue eyes of the golden horse. And I think for 15 minute sketches they are great!!!

Thanks!!
I always enjoy doing fast little sketches but I'm afraid to post them because most of the time they don't look so good These once came out alright though

That brown and white horses are really my favourites. You're so brilliant in drawning this! I'm wondering how you can get this so realistic. It's really beautiful, it's amazing! It's really gonna move to my 's!

Thanks for the fave and for the nice comment! I'm really glad you think it looks realistic! Personally I would hardly class it as semi-realism.
Realism is such a hard thing for me to draw but I will practice more so hopefully I'll learn someday ^_^

I agree it don't look like a real horse, but it looks really much like a horse so I call it realistic And no problem for the fave, because I really love that picture
Just adore that style of drawning, and hope you'll make much more things like this

They have a rather apocolyptic feel--white, pale, red, and black. Okay, so they don't REALLY look like end-of-time judgement horses, but.
Fun drawings! The exaggerations make them feel much more illustrative and "cartoon" than realistic, but it is a neat style, like something in a good children's book.

Yeah, I have a bit of cartoonish/comic like style when it comes to drawing horses. I enjoy using that style though so I'm happy it looks okay.

I like it that's a nice idea. my favourite of them is the brown one on the top, the lighting is very well done on it ^_^

Thanks!
I used yellow as a extra light sorce for the brown one. I got a bit sloppy on the others so they have no particular light source, hehe

I like the black one and the golden one with the blue eye... Those two look just so pretty. I like how you shaded them all.

Thank you! I have a bit of a thing for drawing horses with blue eyes. I think I prefer brown eyes but when I draw I love to do something to add a bit more "ompf" to a character

did you teach yourself to draw them with books and such? or were you just born with the talent? xD

I think they are adorable! You have a little bit of Lena Furberg's drawing style. The bottom right one is prettiest, it looks like a Clydesdale!

Yeah, as many others I grew up with Lena Furberg's comics and she had a huge inpact on my horse drawing style I was actually thinking of heavy horse when I did the bottom right horse. Got to love them!

Nice! I like the black and the white head most The noses on the other looks a little bit wierd, can't put my finger on what it is though.... And the "blown up" cheeks, it looks like they have the same kind oh cheeks like hamsters *giggle* Sry, hope you don't get sad or anything! And the coloringjob is awsame as ususal

The one in the bottom right corner? I think that's my favorite too
I always had problems drawing horse muzzles(I think the perspective is a bit off on these) and I guess their cheeks are a bit "puffy". They are all 15 minutes sketches so I didn't put in much work on pre-work and anatomy. I just wanted something to color fast!
