Because if Cole McGrath and Alex Mercer ever teamed up, the world would be complete and totally screwed. And I would be a happy fangirl.
Personally, I think Prototype and InFamous (if somehow merged) would make the ultimate video game of this millennium, because each game has something the other is missing. It's like they complete each other. For example, with Cole, you have more powers and more diversity in those powers, but they aren't very strong. Alex's, on the other hand, has only a limited number of powers and they can't be upgraded, but they cause enough devastation on their own to level an entire city. Story? Cole's is more intriguing, yet Alex's is more conspiratorial and surprising.
And I only did this because I have a horrible case of Writer's AND Artist's Block. I can't write GBDS and I can't do decent fanart!! What the hell, people?! WHAT THE HELL?!!?

This is what should've happened instead of Prototype 2. Just give Alex all of Heller's new powers and then team him up with Cole in an effort to stop Blackwatch from infecting the whole U.S....and I can't figure out where Cole's side of the story would be cuz I've never played InFamous...

Sometimes I run past a random guy in Infamous and he looks alot like Alex. Those guys are EVERYWHERE...I wonder if one of them WERE Alex..I think that if those two were to meet up, they better partner up instead of fighting each other. New York would be done in minutes.

the ultimate tag team! : ) yee well, you know how similar their companies made their games? I don't know about Infamous's gameplay but it looks like all they did was swap the city for a more urban-looking one and swap Alex for Cole and tada, Infamous. well considering the minor changes, yeah, the games are very congruent.

You have to manually target, but basically, the camera switches to directly behind one of Cole's shoulders and then you move the camera to aim at different enemies. So it lacks an automated targeting system.

oh i see... Doesn't sound as fun, but Prototype has a frustrating lock on. At the very best it's good time slows down when you change powers/targets.

Meh, I got used to the lock on. Yes, its a fiddly little thing, but you get over it eventually. The mechanism behind it is that the lock on will target the most powerful enemy in your line of sight. So, if you're not looking at your target, then the lock on won't engage on him.
