Description
I kept seeing this "Inktober" thing floating around over the years, but never actually by the first of October, so I've always been too late to jump in. Not this year! Unfortunately, as my scanner has ceased to exist, I'm forced to do this whole thing digitally, though I do have some nice pens that I really need to break in one of these days.Not only am I taking this as a "draw a thing every day for a month" challenge, I'm also constraining myself in two other ways, because I like needless restrictions:
* I can only work at a canvas size of 800x600, alterable only in orientation.
* I can only work in black and white.
Let's see if I can keep at it. I'll be going with the prompts on inktober.com/rules .
============
I'll confess to some influence here... I wound up playing some Zelda to wind down a little after drawing yesterday's entry, so I saw more than my fair share of treasure chests. Given that today's prompt is "treasure"... well, the result is fairly obvious.
I wasn't planning on referencing any Link in particular, or even any wand in particular, but I suppose there's retro Zelda influence in there (I was playing A Link to the Past, after all).
High-angle shots! This turned out a lot better than I was expecting, given my relative inexperience with odd angles. Now if only I could get a low-angle shot to come out this well. Also, dark backgrounds and light beams again. I may be addicted.
