Description
A big heap of realistic Pokemon...Whiscash (
), a territorial catfish. Simple.Cyndaquil, a distinctively colored hedgehog/echidna.
Mudkip, the larval stage of a very large salamander.
Totodile, a bipedal crocodilian similar to the ancestors of dinosaurs.
Chikorita, an interesting sauropod-like dinosaur with decorative feathers on its neck and head.
Natu, a bird of the arid tropics.
Chatot, a parrot. Nothing special here.
Magnemite, presented here as a rather interesting type of fly.
Skitty... It's just a cat.
Geodude (!) is presented here as a stone crab. It's easily disguised as a rock, and lives mostly on land (like a robber crab.)
Torchic, the immature fledglings of Blazikens.
Ampharos and Mareep (left out Flaafy... 'cause I don't like it.) are marsupials. When younger, they resemble long-tailed sheep, but lose the wool as they age and grow more kangaroo-like.
And Weepinbell/Victreebel... They're specialized amphibians that evolved parallel to pitcher plants... Victreebel scares me a little here.

I'm sorry, but Weepinbell/Vitreebel should be specialized amphibians. They are plants, giant-ass plants, but plants.

Plants, lacking sentience, were not optimal for something that is patently sentient.
Amphibians are no more like plants than reptiles. Teeth were my artistic choice. They are specialized reptiles. Deal with it.

I think my only problem with the Weepinbel/Victreebel was that they looked rather like the 'bell' parts with little legs.
It looks odd. But I can see where the specialized amphibians would be appropriate for them. While they are plants, they don't really move like plants, do they?

These are some great ideas. I always pictured Victreebel as an actual plant, but anyway...great.
One question, though: If Geodude's a crab, how do you explain the bipedal nature and quasi-reptilian appearance of Golem?

But there'd be no reason for it to sentient if it was an actual plant. :T They can't really... y'know... attack things...
:T I actually never thought about it. It could be mimicry in its earlier states of life, then metamorphosis.
But then, considering the ability of Pokemon to interbreed and have fertile offspring, most of them are technically the same species.
