Well, the Extended Cut endings are now out and I decided to celebrate this event it with making a huge Mass Effect themed pic! Over 50 ragdolls (though only about 10 posed, the rest is very professionally hidden duplicates :-P).This is the biggest scale I've ever worked on. My first landscape shot.

One thing I wanted to see was generic NPC's being replaced b the soldiers you promoted to the front lines, so their avatars would appear during the final mission as NPC's.

If there is ever a remastering of the Trilogy to be released on Next Gen, I hope to god that they enhance the final battle to make it more like this. They can keep the ending the same, if only they can replace the slideshow with animated clips. But the battle is what needs improvement.

TANK RUSH! Awesome pic! (Plus, I was listening to An End Once and For All as I was browsing dA, the epic military brass kicked in just as I saw this) I can't see any of the duplication, and it all looks very tidy. I love how, even in the Chaos, the eye is drawn to Shepard and his squad.
The reaper beams could be a little better, but that's a tiny complaint. All in all, awesome work!

We need actual Alliance soldier models! Either way, this is amazing! But the soldiers', all of the models have shoulder posing (making for limp shoulders when not posed) so you might need to raise them a little. Either way, I was really hoping for this, and attempted to make it too, but couldn't pull so many off.

That's exactly what I've been banging my head on my keyboard yesterday! At least a third of those soldiers are Ashleys, Vegas and Shepards because that's all we currently have in stock!
I mean, they ported nearly everything, including the toilet from Normandy. Could have ported if not a model, at least a skin of an Alliance trooper!

I know! I think GoOR was working on some multiplayer models, and if one of the guys with default armor on him is imported we'll have a little more to work with, but we really need Alliance Troops! If I could get a hold of Mass Effect 3 and figure out how to port stuff (judging from what I've seen, ripping isn't too hard, it's porting that is), I'd get the models myself.

Alliance soldier suit is pretty simliar to ME1 Shepard suit, so I would assume textures can be applied to "N7 citizens in suits" models. To hell with hexing, I can substitute a few shittier armours for an Alliance skin.
That's probably the simplest solutiion (for some time).
Ima look through request forum on FP, see if anyone requested it. Or maybe WIP threads.

The helmet is a bit different, but I believe the armor is the same. I really dislike the physics on the ME1 humans, though. I believe I've requested it a looong time ago along with some other stuff, but it was buried.

There is a biiiig big big big WIP Mass effect megathread. I'm looking through it now for some either textures or signs of life on Alliance troopers. I'll ask for textures first and then for a model.

ME1 humans are kind of...hanary (as in jellyfish :-D), but it just opens more paths in terms of posing. I wouldn't use them as main characters in the foreground, but as backup meat they're good.
Changing helmet lights to blue is not a problem. Really, If I think about it, I can easily erase N7, slap on Alliance logo, give a blue-ish tint to metal and we'll be fine.
You know what, a good idea, Ima do that.

Would there be a way to darken the visor on ME3 Shep's helmet as to make it black? I'm sure we could do a similar thing to his armor to give some variety, as I absolutely despise the arm physics on the ME1 humans.

Well post processing was made by smart people, can always be done manually.
Visor has a separate transparency texture, can be tweaked to be opaque, but side effect of it is reflections dissapear.
Gmod right now is not working, so whatever changes I make, I cannot actually check what I've done and how it looks in game itself.

Damnit, still not working? Cursed TF2 updates! And meh, the visors didn't look very reflective on the troops anyway. I have VTFEdit and the other program for textures so I should be able to darken it. I don't know how good I'd be at removing the armor stripe, but I guess I could... Clone the texture from the other side and mirror it. And the blue tint shouldn't be difficult to apply either.
