The duality of existence...A real foot, made of flesh and bones, and a transparent one, not made of solid substance, almost invisible....
The foot that steps in other worlds, in worlds of fantasy and dreams, light as a bird taking flight...

P.S. Once again, my explanation of the image is just one of all the possible explanations one can give...
Images come to my mind as a whole... So my explanations is just the start to make the viewer think for himself, to give his own explanation, which I accept as a valid one, valid like the one I offer here

very cool. it took me a couple looks to realize how much talent this must've taken. I mean with digital painting you could've just reduced opacity but man o man, that must've taken a keen eye to get that right. Or you had a trick or it's so obvious I can't figure it. Either way it looks great.

There is no trick just hard work... In oil painting, you have to imagine how the transparency layer would look, wait until the first layer dries up, put as many transparent layers as needed and highlight the lights... and sometimes there must be 10 to 15 layers...
Look at the wall in this painting [link] and it was done when Photoshop probably did not existed...
