Some monsters shouldn’t be fought head-on!

When reports of monstrous mushrooms coincided with the disappearance of another Ultra, Ultraman Mebius went to investigate. At the remote part of the mountains, he saw the strange sight of fields of giant mushrooms. He landed and went into fighting position as the fungi started to wobble.

One of them attacked him, which he countered with an energized fist. That would be his gravest mistake ever. Instead of hit by the strike, the mushroom’s stalk opened into gigantic maw complete with tentacles. Mebius’ fist was grabbed by the sticky things and he was pulled hard into the mushroom. He tried to fight but the monster sprayed parasitic spores at him, making the giant hero weak. When his feet was captured, Mebius was flung straight into the waiting maw.

He kept fighting even when the stalk begins to close. His captured fingers pushed on the elastic skin, unable to break free. The helpless giant tried to reach anything to hold his capture, but nothing could do it.

He let out a scream of pain when the underside of mushroom’s umbrella began to cover his head. The hallucigenic effects started to get hold on Mebius, making his memory of his heroism turned into false ones, where he was forever a slave to this evil mushroom. The Ultraman begun to think that he was never strong enough to fight it, and surrender.

His face soon bulged out on the stalk, and then to his resting place atop the mushroom;s umbrella. Inside, tendrils wrapped the giant ferociously from the central brain. Mebius could have won if he struck at it in the first place. But no, he would join his fellow Ultraman as a food source of the fungi empire!
