Description
This is a redux of a picture I drew about a year ago called "Piece of Mind" about my drow/angel in hiding Lotha who is blind in the dark. This happened in a roleplay where I was in the underdark.. alone.. and so happened to get munched on and almost killed by a Mind Flayer. She was never quite the same after that.
anyways enjoy, I had a blast drawing this.
Lotha Uss is copyright of me
Mind flayers however are not.

thank you so much, I actually did this when a big snow storm happened and knocked out power for a week.. most of this was done by actual candlelight.

This is great, and yeah drow can get eaten by almost everything in the underdark. It is cool you have shown a role-play experience i think they always show more life to them. Plus i think this is a cool scene to show any way.

Wow, it's awesome to see how much you've improved. The expression in this one is so much more powerful and the colors have a great contrast. The subtle proportion changes also really add to the feeling of her being small and helpless against what is about to happen. Good work!

omygod this is actually perfect. Like, I mean it. Everything about the drawing is just stunningly flawless, but to be honest what gets me the most is the look on her face. It just makes me wonder "where is she? what's happened to her?" why does she look so lonely/in despair/frightened?"
It cannot hurt to tell you how spectacularly talented you are, and how admirable it is that you are able to share your talents with the world in such a beautiful way as art.
Thank you.

oh wow thank you for such high praise, I thought my scanner rather butchered a lot of this, but I'm glad the effect is still there. if you would like the details of what happened I would be happy to tell you. I do love telling stories

well lotha had gone into the underdark for the first time. You see Lotha is not a natural drow, it's a bod on loan of sorts due to her old one dying untimely. Her spirit passed into that of a young drow mistress who had been sent to the surface to die. She went there with help from her teacher, a mdrow named Mordhaus, but got seperated into it's endless caverns. She glows a bit, and drew attention to a mind flayer, and of course being a naive child she had no idea what was going on. Needless to say she screamed and tried to cast a spell but it was almost too late. It attacked her, but something saved her-- her teacher had found her. Now this young girl was dying, and needed to get help before she lost. Well help WAS found, but she was never the same again, she began to have a twitch of wiggling her ears when she is happy, like a bird flapping wings, and can't get past the mentality she had that day. She does not retain long term knowledge: names yes, actions no. she will forever be a ten year old child.

...omg. Is this a book yet? It should be. If it is, can I have the name so I can read it?
It's very intriguing, i really wanna know more about the context (like, the world in which lotha lives)
Are you writing this story?

its really great to see some more traditional artists. it seems its becoming more of a lost trade these days... have you ever tried digital painting?

actually I'm awful with digital painting and cant seem to wrap my head around it. I like the feeling of paint on my fingers and knowing I did something with my own hands.. so I just stay away from it

Its a good mentality. I find myself thinking to myself after completing a digital painting, "you do realize this painting doesn't actually exist right?" lol. But digital can be a powerful tool to enhance emotions presented through art even if it is only data. But I completely understand your point.
