I kind of wanted it to me reminiscent of the battle with Mewtwo in Pokemon Stadium, where it's just a battle arena in the middle of water. But I added an island in the background just because.The sketch of this was very different, the only thing that stayed the same was the way Mewtwo's tail is positioned.
He looks a bit scarier than I would have liked, so maybe I'll go back and change his face a bit. Very satisfying to finish!

I realize this is an old work of yours by now, but I really love how you set all of the scenery up. It makes a dark, but grand feeling to it, and gives you the idea the battle will be a long and difficult one.
The only criticism I would have for it is I feel the yellow on both his hands and the aura by his feet throw the mood off a little bit, but thats a minor complaint.

Thanks, the yellow was mostly done for contrast, and also because Mewtwo's eyes sometimes flash yellow in ssbm haha
