Description
Sgt Colt : "Squad Leader, what's a dead Merc doing around here."Sqd Leader: "Not sure Sarge, but he died not too long ago. According to this scan, poor bastard died instantly from a complete degeneration at cellular level.
Don't know what kind of weapon could've done that."
Sgt Colt : "Bag him and tag him! Let the science monkeys deal with him... we move on. If my hunch is correct, we are going to find plenty more."
Sqd Leader: "Yes Sarge... Lendolski! This is your lucky day... you get to bag a corpse! Rest of you..."

The 101st StormGuards ~ Elite Centurions
Sergeant Colt of the 101st Stormguards knew that he was asked to lay down his life for the Imperium every time a mission file was placed on his desk... atleast metaphorically speaking, because he had no desk. He was a man on the go and glad to be doing something he was born for. He was hand-picked by a PALADIN to hold the line in the Battle of Orrin when he had just been a rookie in the 23rd Centurion. There were neither any veterans, nor any non-commanding officers left. It was his time and he relished it. The battle was vicious and unending... a handful of rookie Centurions and a lone soldier monk of the House of Faith was all that was left facing the onslaught... back to back, trusting in each other to hold the ground. Having exhausted all ammunition, they fought with grit, determination and their 12 inch blade. He did not care who they fought or what they fought. All he ne

If I could find even one thing wrong with this picture it would be a miracle.
The lighting is perfect and adds to the feel of the picture. One person has already commented on the light and shadow and I agree with them. The fact that the sunlight stops above them gives an idea that there is no hope for any of them getting out alive.
The poses for the character show they are being cautious and yet sticking close to each other for protection. The way they are posed and position in the scene was well thought out.
The best part of the picture is the body in the foreground with his weapon within reach, showing that his weapon was of no use in stopping his death.
It is a very well thought out picture and the small details add to the feel and over all look of the picture.

Hey there, thank you. So I take it that you are a sic-fi fan? You watched District 9? Was it not made in South Africa?

Sci fi fan yes-- but ashamedly I haven't watched District 9..... can I hide in a corner now. The director is South African and I do believe they did film it here.
It was actually interesting because I remember in film school (when he was still making the "short film" ) someone came to our university and showed us some clips of it. Couple of yeras later seeing the trailer for District 9 I was like- hey! I've seen this before!!Truth is stranger than fiction I guess.
I really liked how much you packed into the frame- nice to see detailed scenes like this in DAZ.
You're welcome (for the fav).

I especially like the light that falls above the marines but doesn't reach them, leaving them in shadow. And then the flashlights, and the little touch of red-orange on the corpse's armor - there are some good things being said with light in general in this one. It's a nice composition, too, and I can see where the focus choices must have proven challenging.

Yes it was... initially was going to just put in a green goop as focus but then had an epiphany! Thanks for your comment. All I can say is when they get closer to their objective, it ain't gonna be pretty!
