...which was written by a devout catholic who was best friends to C.S. Lewis.
That is a foolish thing to say. Do you interpret a poem literally? How about a metaphor or allegory? If those aren't meant to be taken literally, then should they be taken at all?

hahaha, the very same chapter of leviticus you're talking about also says that the following are evil: shaving, eating shellfish, having disobedient children, and treating your wife like a person rather than property.
and that is true. the Bible is NOT God's word. Its the word of those who say god revealed truths to them. I have yet to read "The Gospel according to God"/

Does homosexuality make any biological sense? Some, but not directly. (It's essentially like celibacy as far as evolution is concerned.) Does that mean it should be banned? Hell no. You could use the exact same argument to ban priests if it was morally valid.

Makes biological sense to me. Would seem to be nature's way of trying to keep populations in check, which Lord knows we need to. But when people go "No, it's unnatural." I reply with "Basically all of reality disagrees with you."

"Lord knows" AHA!
Also, I read somewhere that species experiencing overpopulation do indeed have a higher chance of having homosexuals.

Egads, you've caught me! I use cultural expressions I was raised with and which are common phrases in my country's culture despite not believing the story said expressions are based on! Well played, my good sir!

Hi, I hope I'm not butting in, but there are actually a few biological reasons for homosexuality. A theory based on a study of dolphins ([link] ) suggests that males will mate to bond the social group more closely so that the animals will be more inclined to protect each other among other things. Also, essentially, evolution is often about finding the way to have the most offspring survive. In social, group animals like humans, homosexual couples would not have offspring of their own but would help the offspring of others to survive.

I'm butting in too.
(Rough translation from a finnish science magazine called "Tiede"[=Science]) "Studies have shown that female birds prefer homosexual relationships after breeding because it's less stressful. And all birds with same gender partner live longer."
So in nature the other gender is just used to avoid extinction.
