Lately, I've been getting into the indie game, Amanda the Adventurer. A game I find more intriguing than scary. However, I found out that there's already a ripoff of the game that's a complete rehash of the original, but with bad sound effects, text-to-speech dialogue instead of proper voice actors and Woolie being replaced by a big green gummy bear named Willie!Here's Bijuu Mike's reaction to it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj2g62…
After watching Mike's video, I felt inspired to redesign Willie and make him more appealing. Nothing too drastic, I changed his colour palette to be a tad more pastel; seeing that he was originally this bright neon green that made him hard to look at. He also had blue in his inner ears and claws, so I mostly ditched that and primarily stuck with the red and green. The reason he has a little stem on his head is that his colours reminded me of apples, mostly the Granny Smith and Braeburn kind. So, I wanted to stick with the apple vibe, especially since they're a reoccurring motif in the original game. Why does he have a knife in his head? It's meant to be a nod to the ripoff's own secret tape. Basically, it shows both bootleg Amanda and Willie looking all creepy while stock screams are playing on loop. Very spoopy.
Overall, I love how he came out, he just has a lot more personality now.
