Is all of that scene straight ahead? There's a lot of snap to it... painfully so. It looks good, though! ^^

The naga and satyr character throwing the ball around. Looks so snappy and regular that I can't see it pose-to-pose.

Well pretty much. I had college crunch through the whole process. I spent more of my senior project troubleshooting through bad computers than actually animating. ._. Take a peek at [link] It might be just a character rig test, but I had much more fun since it all worked (almost) flawlessly.

I suppose that'd be awfulness...
This is why I can't believe people still work with computers...imagine how bad this shit is on your bottom line AND schedule when you're trying to actually make something for a client.
I count myself lucky that hand-drawn animation didn't go the way of life-drawing in the 1950s. :whewplz:
I dig that it gets easier to do hand-drawn the more you do, but computers and their systems evolve a million times faster relative to you than a pencil will. Never quite got that.
The test looks interesting, and pretty flawless! Nicely done. ^^

I found this right now, awesome stuff. I'm in 3D Animation in Ottawa, Canada. Crazy characters - I love them a lot. We'd get chewed out if we did something with these kinds of characters, so I am super jealous.

Oh I got flak for it too. But truth be told, there's alot to be said about the work that you enjoy. And what most people look at is how does fantasy NOT fall into the typical stereotypes of... well... awfulness.

I'll be graduating next year with a final film and demo reel too. Seeing so many other peoples' get's me so pumped. A good attitude I've been told. Good luck out there.

Hey, good luck!!! And congrats for keeping with the field!
Make sure to try and polish up your reel, and as much of your work as you can as you are making it. I'm sure you have a big senior animation.
Hold tight to your story, make it as fantastic and appealing as you can! Try your best to make it look like your BEST, and when all is said and done, polish up your reel and when you talk about your work with employers. Because you WILL!!!
They will see that above all else, if you make it your best, they will see that you have the ability to put your best out there. You'll be able to talk about your work more proudly than a slack job. When all is graduated, the "I wish I did that better" will always be there, but it wont be bad at all, so much so that you'll talk proudly about your work!
So Keep it up and make your final film the best!
Good luck!

No argument there. Polish is the word of the year already at school. Thanks for the advice.

This = awesome. That last fight scene was super epic.
You're very good at character/symbol design, as well as motion animation.
(Music's cool, too. )

Thank you very much! Its pretty tough, but designing life in a character is the best part of animation!
The music is from the Melismatics, I worked with them a bit for their music video project in the beginning of summer, they are a great bunch! Go look them up!

That's quite badass. I also like how you matched up the music when the naga and the satyr are playing with the ball.

I had to cut the song down in order to keep everything from going too long. It was a badass synch!
Thanks!
