Wow, that is a LOT of stitches! VERY impressive! I always love large amigurumi because you can do so much more detail with them and the overall look is so smooth, but I usually lack the patience to keep at it for that long.
He's absolutely beautiful; the ears and facial structure are lovely, and while the feet seem simple in construction, the look so awesome! I like the wrapped claws. And the horns curve so nicely! Is there wire in this bad boy? Because the neck looks like it doesn't curve naturally, but I really like that! It's like his skin is wrinkled up there, just like a real neck!
Oh my gosh, this has me so excited. UGHH. Craftgasm. Can't wait to see the finished project!

Yes, the claws do look very clean, which is quite impressive! I usually have one heck of a time doing anything similar in nature to embroidery.
Is this a commission or just for yourself? Something that awesome, if it's not kept for yourself, is either a gift to the most amazing person you know, or being handed over for a GOOD chunk of money. ;D

7 inches is considered pretty decent-sized for a crocheted plush I think. It's sometimes hard staying interested in larger projects. I don't know how I managed to stick to this.. I have so many unfinished things scattered throughout my room. The last unnaturally large thing I made sat untouched for months before I finally finished it ._. You should definitely give it a shot though! At least I've convinced myself that it's worth it

Haha, oh good, at least it's not just me. But I know exactly what you mean; sometimes you start something and lose interest, but sometimes you get that crazy itch and you just have to make it! And it has to be amazing!
And then you burn yourself out for a few weeks... Lol, try not to do that.
