Description
I'm still alive! And it's Charmander! I'm planning on entering this into 's current contest, Pokemon! Though not this photo because I want to finish all the starters from the first games and a group photo is a must!
Anyway, I'm planning on writing out the patterns for all of them so as usual, please credit me should you use or reference the pattern. It really does take me a lot of time to write these out! Also, please don't sell the pattern or finished product since I do not own these characters! Let me know if you catch any errors! Thank you!

**The flame at the end of the tail was made by brushing out yarn. I was trying to figure out how to make the flames look more "flame-like" and ended up using this tutorial: by as a guide. I ironed the brushed out yarn instead of using a hair straightener since I didn't have one, but it seemed to do the trick!
**The eyes and nails are needle felted though I'm sure cut out felt will also work!

Going to work on the underside and was wondering about the last step: sc along edges. Does this mean around the entire strip?

I love your patterns! I have a question about the underside...at the end of stitching it it says to "single crochet around". Do you mean around the edges of the underside, or do you do it around the edges to attach to the body tail? Thanks!

I have a small problem with row 20 of the head/body I think: -Sc 3, inc, sc 3, inc, sc 2, inc, sc 2, inc, sc 2, inc, sc 3, inc, sc 3 (30)
After last increase I end up with only 1 sc possible instead of 3sc. ^^"

In the 6th set of directions for the head and body it reads ince. Does that mean increase? Because you have it written mostly as inc. I'm sorry of this is a dumb question. This is my first time making amagarumi. Thanks

Really wanted to make this, but it was a bit small and pillow pet like. You inspired me to make a larger version that sits up. Still working on it and nervous as hell about how to do the eye. I put it as a WIP on my page if you want to see

Sorry as this question may have already been asked. I am new to amigurumi, and I haven't been able to answer this: when crocheting in the round, are chaining one at beginning of each row? Thanks so much
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Angel0fDragons In reply to Meleker0727 [2016-02-28 18:18:22 +0000 UTC]
here you crochet it directly to each other. If it is supposed to be chained, then it will be written on the pattern, eg. chain1, sc25, slipstich

Is it me or is there a small mistake in the tail?? It says sc2, incx2, sc2 (8) which makes sense, but then the next one says: sc3, inc, sc3, dec (8). But 3 +2 (inc) + 3+1 (dec) makes 9 right?? And there aren't enough stitches to do the decrease..... Cause after sc3, inc, sc3 you're on 7 stitches already and that leaves 1 stitch for the decrease??

Eltjuh In reply to Eltjuh [2015-11-03 16:44:33 +0000 UTC]
Or is that because it doesn't necessarily start and end at the same spot???

Hey, I'm just on Charmander, I've just finished crocheting my Bulbasaur - Have to wait to find some felt so I can do the details.
But, my FO point on the body of charmander looks to be at the midline of the topside. Otherwise its just doesn't sit right. Will this effect the rest of it at all?
I love your patterns, I plan on making the whole lot!!

DarkAnubisAngel In reply to nonnyfg [2015-06-17 18:05:44 +0000 UTC]
I just finished the pattern myself, and found that a little shaping as you stuff and finish it, allows it to sit properly, also, how tight your gauge is can affect how it sits as well, as well as how tight you join each round...

I'm making him so he sits up, so I'm making the head and body as separate pieces to stitch together as a right angle. Do you know exactly where the head turns into the body to I can finish off my new way?

look at the stitch numbers. When it comes to where its one row as 24, the next 20, and then 24 again is the end of the head.

Hiiii, I don't know if it's just me, but I'm not getting what the "(number)" means at the end of the each step. Here's an example.. "Repeat previous step 3 more times (5)".. Can someone help me? This is absolutely ADORABLE! I really want to make one.. WHOA ignore that comment, I'm dumb . I see what it is now. Sorry to bother..

When I first started making crochet animals I was confused by that too lol. The numbers at the end are the number of stitches that should be in that round/row when that step is finished.
Example
Magic ring asks for 6 stitches (6)
And inc in each stitch in the next round is 2 stitches in each stitch of the previous round so that would make it 12 stitches (12).
Hope this helped you

I've been practicing my crochet A-LOT. Of the adorable pokemon you've made patterns for this is the one I want to try first. Would you mind sharing with us what yarn brand/weight you used for this one? I'm trying to choose my own yarn for this project and I was curious which you used -- since I love the colors.
