Do you have a really new or a really old camera? Canon or Nikon or something else? I find it a bit strange that you can't open RAW files on you PS, since it's a CS6... But I encountered this problem with my CS5.1 too, when I tried to open a RAW file shoot with Canon 600D. The RAW file was "new", I think, so my older version of PS didn't recognize it. But PS CS6 in school did, when I tried it later.
But yeah, this is a neat tutorial. I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses gradient map on a regular basis. (:

I can do all that cos my camera is a DSLR with a macro lens that allows me to photograph in low light.

You can open RAW files in Photoshop sometimes, but your camera needs to be compatible with your version of Camera Raw. :< But you can download Adobe DNG converter and convert your raws to digital negatives, which still allow the same customization ability as RAW files.

Shooting Raw changed my life! My photos look so awesome now. Thanks for the awesome editing tutorial!

Is the editing similar on photoshop?

You're welcome X3

It isn't a photoshop editor really. Camera Raw has a different layout then Photoshop... but once you save it, it opens up as a jpeg in photoshop automatically.
But the camera raw layout is pretty simple/intuitive. I'm sure it is similar to the default programs our cameras come with.

What program are you using?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aPPlejaZZ In reply to fireStashe [2013-03-27 22:39:55 +0000 UTC]

For the 1st editing is a Canon software for the EOS cameras. The 2nd is Photoshop CS6, but adjustment maps exist in any Photoshop version.
