This is my interpretation of the world of Sonic as it appeared in the cartoon.

I used official production material as reference and adapted it to include most of the locations that appeared accross the 26 episodes of the series.

🌎 Guide through the map:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  - The Great Forest -

A nearly impenetrable jungle that extends as far as the eye can see. It is actually a deep canyon that is covered to the brim with very tall trees and assorted alien plants, making a roof and protecting the secret village of Knothole from being uncovered. Only Sonic and his friends know their way through these woods, and they're the only force preventing the Great Forest from becoming a wasteland.
The forest is cut in half by a Great River and is also home to a mountain ridge where treasures are said to be concealed.

  - The Endless Desert -

A mysterious desert that dominates a large portion of the continent. It stretches from the far west to the uncharted lands of the east. Common features here are caverns, ravines and volcanoes. Dr. Robotnik utilizes these areas to mine their resources and to test his war machines.

  - Robotropolis -

Sticking out in the desert like a splotch of black ink on a white canvas is the city of Robotropolis. This ever-expanding concrete jungle is covered by a blanket of smog, and the pollution that stems from its oppressive factories has left a mark on all of the neighbouring regions.

  - The Unknown -

Deep into the eastern side of the desert is the Great Unknown. Only legends speak of what lies in this region of bleak, unexplored badlands - one may find lost civilizations and even portals to other worlds.
