Description
WHOOOOOOOIE. Did I have fun with this one.Where can I start? FUCK YES ON THIS STORYLINE. Totally amped about the pairing, the symbolism of the whole coupling. HAHAHAHAHA AH. YES.
Good times.
Really hope it works out for them in the next movie "At Worlds End", but you know. One can .only. hope. I gotta give kudos to the acting for this whole version, considering it didn't seem mutually possible in real life. Fuck. Seriously. But kiera pulled it off, as did Johnny, and for that I have been MOVED.
Ah yes. This feeling. Was thinking Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly.
"Into the distance, a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction holding me fast, how
Can I escape this irresistible grasp?
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted Just an earth-bound misfit, I
Ice is forming on the tips of my wings
Unheeded warnings, I thought I thought of everything
No navigator to guide my way home
Unladened, empty and turned to stone
A soul in tension that's learning to fly
Condition grounded but determined to try
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I
Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, A state of bliss
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I"
I hope you all enjoy, was going for a wallpaper after submitting the picture itself, if you don't see it up right away.
Yar.
Really loved doing it. Done in OC.

It does rarely with others, (that I know of), but moreso with a 'buddy' back in Texas. Just kinda pushes my buttons sometimes, ya know.
: O Whew, either way though. Portland seems to be a neat place everywhere! XD Ah. I'm sure that you'll find your real memorization of such places will pop out on those works of yours! Scan em up when you get the chance, or do some new work on your computer. (Oekaki is simple and fun)
But yeah, you gotta start somewhere, copying is a phase that you gotta go through to learn, but the real fun part--the creative part--comes from elsewhere. Everyone eventually needs to move on from this phase, as far as I'm concerned : O Glad to hear you've moved onto the next step!

XD It does seem so! Though if you look, any place is neat. Especially in the places most people don't go or look. Like up.
I havn't done Oekaki in aaages. D: I miss it. Scanned one thing in today! Should have time to do a couple more things tomorrow.
Well, it was kind of a point where I left school, realised how unbelievably un-creative I had been at school, and revelled in the creativity at college. (Community college to you I believe.) Then I got really scared and didn't believe in my art skills any more, as I simply wasn't drawing. (I'm currently on a multimedia course, though will be on an Illustration course next year.) Hence the only copying thing. I do try and use references a lot, but adapting them rather than simply copying. I'm going to enjoy having a better understand of everything and just being able to draw what I like, well, off the top of my head. In the 20 or so years meantime...

Aye, most people don't really even see what's around them anyway, so XD..ah..
ZOMBIE SOCIETY.
I kid I kid. I'll have to go check out that pic of yours if you've uploaded it in devart, but as far as your college situation goes sounds like it was just the right environment for you to move on. Personally, I never went into college out of high school, which isn't exactly something to brag about---although I DID get accepted into the school of the art institute of chicago ( [link] ) which is something i'd investigated in, and somewhere i'd recommend that you go when you're ready.
It takes a lot of focus to get into the art scene, not really a lot of time : 3. (But time goes by so quickly doesn't it?)

True. Zombie society?
I have! And yes, it's been really great. Finally learnt how to use my sketchbook properly, as at school it was "do this this and this. What's this?! Don't doodle in it!" And I'm actually only 18 at the moment, just finishing college, rather than going through 6th form, and going to univeristy next year. I've been accepted at one of the well known illustration courses here (westminster) and england is supposed to be better for art stuff than a lot of places. I did consider going to america, but couldnt find anywhere that seemed like it valued art over academics.
What do you mean? And yes. Very fast. ._.;

le sigh, sorry. Couldnt respond for quite some time!
-__- Sketchbooks are so fun as time capsules, so it's kinda nice to have some method to the madness...
do check out chicago! It may suit your needs for the root of modern art and influence.
other than that. er. I have no idea what I was meaning anymore. @_@ so much time passing...my memory is TERRIBLE.

It's ok, I know how it is.
*nods* I keep forgetting to date things though. Oh well.
I find sites of universities in america very odd. I can never find any information about the courses on them. Here (england) we have a system which lets us search all the courses available to us. How do you do it there?
XD oh well. You cant remember everything.

I don't even think I can stress how in love I am with this piece. It's absolutley amazing! The entire composition is just in your face, and the emotion is like 'BOOM!'. You captured them so well.
Your style is so great. I love it so much.
And I just noticed hte piece of Aztec gold in the background. That's really cool.

Glad you saw that gold ^_~ I thought it would be perfect for the treasure that the treasure found. : ) : O There's also the compass from deadmans chest in there to further emphasize the point, and the birds of last name to tie things up. (I do these kinds of things XD). I'm sure you can guess what they're all trying to pick up together, if I know ya : )
