I have aspergers syndrome. I think everyone knows this? o3o
But I've grown tired of people I've seen elsewhere on forums, flaming like a retard, then anytime something goes wrong "Oh I've got aspergers I don't know any better!"
Bullshit. XD
Okay... aspergers are blunt, make mistakes, but its not like I can't learn OH MAYBE I SHOULDN'T TELL THAT PERSON THEIR ART WAS SHIT... MAYBE... I SHOULD SAY THIS IN A NICE WAY?
I make lots of mistakes where I look bad.. but I apologize for them, I take responsibility, because in the end... even if I didn't know better, its still my fault on how I behave. If I don't know a stove is hot, and I shove someones face on it and they get burnt... well I didn't know any better just doesn't seem to cut it now does it? xD
AS isn't an excuse, its an understanding... When I was diagnosed I was so relieved to have a focus point on what I could do to communicate with people, instead of eye contact I stare at peoples lips... it lets them know they have my attention, even though they have it when I'm staring off into space, I can accept it makes them feel better. XD Its cool... if I tell people, its only so they can spot me doing something and let me know nicely so I can work on it, not so I can insult them and go OH WELL YOU KNOW.
This also works in a dual nature sort of way...
Just because I say something blunt doesn't always mean I'm being an asshole... if you ask if that dress makes you look fat, and I say yes... I'm telling you because YOU asked ME. I'm not being a dick, you asked, you get an honest answer. XD

Hello!
I'm an Asperger, and I absolutely adore this stamp, but I was wondering if you (or I) could maybe make an alternate version without the "not asshole syndrome" part?Β

My brother has Aspergers, and, like you he gives honest answers.
OR he'll just tell someone straight up what he thinks.
He once said to a teacher: "You are a horrible person". He can't help it, and it's nice to know that there are others like him.

I know what you mean when you said 'But I've grown tired of people I've seen elsewhere on forums, flaming like a retard, then anytime something goes wrong "Oh I've got aspergers I don't know any better!"'
Theres a girl at my school and she uses her difficulty for an excuse for everything. I mean everything.
Me, I've had a load of problems. Epilepsy (3 months off school from that), a squint (teased about that for my whole school life until now wherre it got so unbearable, i had an operation) and whole heap of other stuff. So I'm here for anyone with AS, Autism or anyother stuff

amen to that dude, the fact i'm an aspie doesn't mean i'm i giant dick. Know me better, Judge me later. The fact people take a distance from people with aspies is because they don't understand us.

Have ADHD, Depression, Neurofibromatosis, Scoliosis, and AS. I'm an unlucky kid.
What is autism, exactly, and how does it differ from Aspergers anyways?

Didn't know this stamp would exist. Having this syndrome hasn't been fun for me and people assume I will always do something wrong. Communicating was always too hard to do but I deal with it better now. Thanks for making the stamp! I'd rather have aspergers than be an asshole any day.

Yes, thank you! *Applause* I have aspergers;' it's not a big deal, but it makes things like socializing slightly difficult, and I hate it when inconsiderate idiots pretend they have aspergers to get away with rudeness, giving us all a bad name in the process.

I have Aspergers Syndrome as well. I was diagnosed two years ago at the age of 19. My biggest issue is that I tend to be rather blunt when I speak my mind (sadly I've lost friends over it). I'm big on correcting people as well. Like if my mother is singing and she messes up the lyrics I tend to get aggravated with her. It took years to finally get a diagnosis for me. I started going to a psychologist when I was fourteen for severe anxiety and several strange rituals. Then at 16 they tried to figure out why my teachers said that there was I had a serious lack of effort. Then at 19 my friend (boyfriend at the time) told my mother about AS so she brought it up with my psychologist and she confirmed the diagnosis. But then she started to focus more on why I acted like a boy so much (but that's another story for another time). Then at 20 I started going to a AS support group for young adults with AS and high functioning Autism.
To me, people with AS is a type of purity. We're less likely to sugar-coat our opinions and we're more likely to stay true to ourselves.

I agree! I don't believe that if someone asks "Does this dress make me look fat?" that it should be the recipients job to predict whether said person is really asking or just seeking compliments.
Blunt is drastically different from rude, in my opinion... if in the simple fact there are two routes that someone might take in response. Blunt would usually go "Oh, I'm sorry-- I didn't meant to upset you, I just wanted to answer your question" and a jerk would go "Well it does. Geez!" with little to no regard for the person... And in the case of why this stamp was made, they would go on to say: "I have aspergers, I can say what I want!" which drives me up the wall.
I think anyone should be able to say what they want, and anyone can respect someone else's feelings when they do. I mean, I imagine if you corrected your mom on a lyric and she started crying, you would feel bad-- not get defensive and cruel about it. xD Yanno, like... "Well you got the lyric wrong, you deserved this."
I think that's the kind of difference I wanted to point out.
Also on that note, I agree there is a sense of "purity" to it... but also AS individuals differ greatly across the spectrum, and many who are also introverts will internalize the problems they face and make many efforts to change themselves, even when speaking more truths.
I only very recently learned how to set up my sense of self without trying to alter it to meet other's expectations. In fact, my AS made me very GOOD at not staying true to myself, because I was quick to figure out ways to alter my appearances and behaviors because I was working with such a clean slate. In turn, by the end of adolescence, I barely had any idea what was me and what was the series of masks I had created.
But yeah-- don't get me wrong, I love being AS. xD I wouldn't change it, though I do wish I had known some of my 'coping mechanisms' earlier than I did. I just get tired of seeing people use it as an excuse and give everyone else with it a bad name. A quick example I saw when I made this was someone say "You're a bitch." on a forum, and then say they had every right to say it because they had AS. To me, that's a pretty clear insult-- and purposeful! I can say many things to someone about their personality and actions, but to summarize it into an insult implies intent, in my experience. xD I don't know about you but aha... yeah.

Asshole syndrome isn't something to be mocked, I happen to have been diagnosed with it at a very young age. Sometimes for no reason my anal goes into prolapse, do you know how hard it is to function when your asshole is gasping for air?
Maybe you should think about others before you make stupid shitty posts like this, asshole.

Damnit Chanuk, you know I hate you AND your asshole and I hope your asshole is leaking smelly anal fluids in anger right now. This is the internet, and America! So I have the freedom and the right, which means I have the responsibility to say whatever I want!
