More No Matter Whats. Paul and Jean-Marie. They speak French.

I swear all the French stuff in my stories is probably because of the fact that I was a massive ouiaboo(see here: www.urbandictionary.com/define… ) as a kid.

Anyway so for the story. Paul's trying to become an NP and Jean-Marie works at the place mentioned here: . They have fun conversations together too.

Because there's a fun little issue here: Paul is Swiss, and Jean-Marie is French. Not sure how it happened, but they ended up getting in some kind of argument over numbers because they're actually different in France vs Belgium and Switzerland. I, personally, like the Belgian and Swiss versions better lmao. Anyway they were probably arguing over it and then Jean-Marie's boss comes in and is all, "Okay now you have to say neufty neuf." Jean-Marie's boss is also Paul's friend. Paul doesn't work there but he interacts with them a lot. He literally has his own office where he hangs around doing like, medical school stuff and all that. But he also just sits in there waiting for his friend to show up and be all, "I pissed off Jean-Marie and now he's refusing to speak English. Plz translate for him."

You can tell who's who based on how 99 is being said.

Seriously, quatre-vingt-dix-neuf may mean ninety nine, but it is literally something like "four twenties nineteen." Why? I dunno. It's not a super huge deal but it was definitely annoying to remember.

10/9/2023 I was looking at this again, and I was all, "Oh, Paul has a dorito chin but Jean-Marie doesn't. But Jean-Marie has hairy arms. Good for him!" Soooo yeah... Also apparently my work is already playing Christmas music. I'm not scheduled til next week but there's a subreddit and... Yeah, so that's something to look forward to, I guess...? I heard they tried pulling this sort of thing before and backpedaled when customers complained. I like Christmas and all, but I don't really want to hear the music til November. I don't even like Halloween but it still needs its time.
