Description
I did this a long time ago, just for fun! Now I have a better idea to do the meme again, but I spent a lot of time doing this one, so I thought I may share it with you... just for fun (againThere are sooooo many, many things that inspire me, but when I started checking I realised there were, well, too many! So I selected only the first ones that came into my mind when I thought about "inspiration", simple as that
Yoshitaka Amano: his dark ladies, strange combination of colours, rage, magic and white faces, and great concept art for The Angel's Egg, Final Fantasy games, etc. have been on my mind since I discovered him when I was 13 or sth. I find his works classy and original. I tend to imitate the postures and languid faces.
Pixar: the genius workshop. Ratatouille amazed me, I have never wanted so much to clap like crazy in a cinema! And I completely agree with their motto: "You can't rush art."
Disney: not really, but yes really. The concept art from Tangled pushed me into drawing again seriously
John Bauer: along with so many other golden-age illustrators like Kay Nielsen or Edmund Dulac. But he's my favourite. I love his little princesses, wet forests and trolls! TROLLS!
CLAMP: I hate their stupid stories, I find them a fraud! But their art is simply amazing. I tried to copy each one of their drawings when I was little. So delicate, so cute, yet powerful. Clover is my favourite
Dostoievski: I just worship him as my personal god. He's my only true idol.
Takehiko Inoue: more manga! He's a genius, in both art and story. He gives so much power to his characters, you can image them as real as you. And his way of drawing movement and expressions... I die.
Nature: I find that, before art, there's reality. But I think nature is reality's more artistic daughter. Everything you can do, nature has done better. Will do better. Does better. Look at her!
Hiroaki Samura: I'm a big fan of "Blade of the Immortal" and his use of pencils to draw HORRID BLOOD AND GORE SCENES is just so soft and warm and... hahahaha
Chica Umino: There's just something about her stories and art... Not a single cliche here. This is both strange, funny, cute, real and sad. Honey & Clover is one of my favourite manga series.
Kentaro Miura: Berserk IS my favourite manga series. Monsters, blood, violence, swords... amazing, amazing art. Yes, I can very well love this and Disney at the same time
Junji Ito: so freaky! And his art is just so polished and detailed, very elegant. Also, I love the horror atmosphere he can create so easily, without being excessively creepy or bloody. I find that's very important in art: the "mood", and I like it the "disturbing" way
Sorry for all the writting, if you have read it. I just wanted to share this. Lots of love!

Well, his books completely changed my point of view of EVERYTHING when I was 13 or so, and not a single writer has blow my mind that way again, so I think I owe him a lot. I think I can appreciate life the way I do thanks to him. He explores the human mind and behaviour like the most natural thing. He's a true genius... That's why I've included him even though it has nothing to do with art, because I think he's still the "artist" I admire most... And will always be.
Sorry for the long explanation! Thanks for the comment

Totally cool with long explanation! lOL
That's really cool, Dostoievski is such an interesting writer, I recently study his work, so it's fun to see what others love about him!
Your very welcome!!

Oh wow, this is really quite diverse and really really interesting. It's always nice to see what inspires people! I especially like the part about nature in your artist's comments. Very true.

I'm so glad you like it, you know I always appreciate your comments, they always make me feel better! You should do one of these, too! It doesn't have to be all about drawings and paintings, comics, literature and movies are an inspiration, too, and you are quite creative
