Description
I've been wanting to submit this photo for a long time. Taken at the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo last summer. The gorilla sat directly behind a glass wall, so I could get close. I was lucky that the glass was almost clean and there were no reflections. Now I want to forget those vacations, so it's definitely the last photo from Japan I'm gonna submit here.
Resized and framed, no other modifications.

Scary indeed, could almost be featured in the poster of a horror movie. Very nice composition and the bland background fits here well. The little plant thing connects the animal to the nature, I think it's a very good thing it's there. This is clearly one of your best photos.

Yeah, doesn't look very friendly. I wouldn't have dared to go so close if it hadn't been in a zoo

Gorillas are one of my fav animals. You're lucky you got so close - even if there was glass between you. Beautiful image.
