Description
Lord of the Rings: Saturm from 22nd July 2019 captured with a C11I guess that this is the best result I can hope for when capturing Saturn this year.
Transparency, seeing and humidity were a bit above average last night when, despite of the weather forecast, the clouds disappeared and revaealed the beautiful night sky.
Viewing the ring planet through the eye piece was a joy: The steady air allowed me to get a quick look at the Cassini Division and some of Saturn's moons.
Unfortunately, as usual, filming the gas giant through a C11 at this high resolution lead to images which are more blurry in comparison to viewing Saturn through an eye piece.
Picture data:
- ~ 13 000 frames
Equipment used:
- C11 telescope with ~ 3m focal length
- EQ6R Pro Mount
- ASI ZWO 290 MMC
- 2x Powermate
- Baader IR Pass Filter
Recording:
- Binning enabled
Editing:
- Frames were stacked
- Stacked image was sharpened

Thanks! Hopefully the images of Saturn with the C11 get better within the next 3 years. The C11 telescope has a very high resolution, thus capturing Saturn in a crisp way is very difficult.
It doesn't sound silly to me! Had also such a moment in 2011 when I was in the desert in Egypt and was able to look through someone's telescope there. I saw Saturn (and Mars I think). It was really an unforgettable moment!

n.n! I'm sure than next shots will be awesome!!!!
Ah! That's great to hear! Admit that when I saw Saturn, tha night was so clear that we were able to see also Juppiter with 5 moons in eclipse.... unfortunatly they were not able to catch a photo....
Admit astronomy has always fashinated me,also from a scientific and mathematic point of view!
