Technical notes:

After watching the acrylic painting process of Greg Staples on David Finch's livestream, and the way they worked of already inked pieces, I decided to try it in a similar way in digital.

There are some clear benefits to coloring below black ink (Well, it's actually dark red, but that's besides the point.), mainly that one can focus more on colour and ignore edges for most of the process. But it's also way easier to envision the final piece.

Clear downside is that getting the exact value right is tricky, as areas can be shaded with two different methods. And it takes a lot of time.

I could have done an colouring iteration on top of the inks in some parts, but at that point the time investment would skyrocket.

Despite that, I prefer it over going in with colours directly, but the process still needs some refinement.
