i bet you never thought you would see the finished piece...those work in progress shots were submitted AGES ago!
well after a lot of time and effort, here she is..... Motoko Kusanagi
this started out life when i decided i loved the anime series so much that i wanted my very own poster of it...so i thought i would make one
i suppose this scene was inspired by episode 4 in 2nd GIG (GITS fans know the one i mean) theres an amazing scene at the end where kusanagi and her tachikoma are chased under a hail of bullets from one of the Hornet attack copters...so i painted my version of that
and dont feel so sorry for the tachikoma...its just a shell.

Heesh, man. o_o Her hair blows me away, and I'm deeply impressed by the level of detail. There's something indefinably weird about her hamstrings, but it doesn't spoil the picture by a long shot, it's just something that dawns after a lot of looking.
Is it awful that the most amusing thing about this picture for me is the Yodobashi Camera signboard behind her?

I really like your take on Motoko, she looks so cool. I also like the over all feeling I get from this. There's action and suspence, but also an element of calm from Motoko. Great Job, I'm just sorry that I just now ran across this peice.

you've portrayed motoko amazingly the action is so real in this, the detail is insane!
