Happy Father's Day, everybody~Back from epic hiatus (10 months?!)
Thought I'd try my hand at drawing again yesterday (first time drawing anything in forever). Feels good man. Tossin' in another 'Tarzan and Handsome Moustache Dad' into the gallery, because dat dad didn't get NEARLY enough screen time. just sayin ヽ(; ▽ ; )ノ
aww man. I'll get over my love for Tarzan one day...that movie just hits a spot with me

Thank you, I was looking for an artist who conveyed the true emotive potentiel of the suit moment, when the "mother ape" waits outside on the treahouse deck, and we hear these wonderfully outlandish at this point footsteps, oh god, shoes! And he steps out of the doorway, adjusting his cufflinks. So nice. :3

I've just realised. How does Tarzan not grow hair on his face? It's not like he shaves and he clearly has the genes to get thick facial hair. :/

I've asked some guys this before, and apparently it is possible to shave with sharp rocks (no skin irritations though = magic of Disney?).
The character designers probably just wanted a youthful, freshfaced hero (easier to draw in motion vs adding consistent body/facial hair idk) rather than the freed Alan Parrish in Jumanji.
Plus no transitional songs about shaving Tarzan and all that #derp

I understand that, hair on the head is bad enough to have to animate, I was just curious to see if there was a reasonable explanation to explain it ^^
Those scenes would have been interesting to watch though :')

thanks JesnCin! Dem hands took me forever, so I'm happy you noticed them! I'm also really pleased that you picked up the subtleties of the postures and expressions! Oh, I too wish Tarzan's dad didn't kick the bucket like 4 minutes into the movie :< THAT CHARACTER DESIGN ;u;... so much wasted potential...(he isn't in ANY of the spin-offs either. DISNEY!!)

Heeey ; D Yes, long time no post =-=; I agree, totally a magnificent drawing! 'course I am completely bias. (Adding his faded/memory dad was a good idea!) My only critique is that his top right hand looks a little squished/shortened...I think it might have something to do with the thumb. But all the other hands are freggin amazin. '_' I need to start adding mondo veins in my hand drawings ^^ ;

thanks bro! I agree with your critique too. I've been trying to figure out what was off with that hand, and I think you're right. The perspective wasn't working or w/e. Will go fix that! Lifesaver right here, thx.

but yeah, add veins to ALL the hand drawings! all my man-hand refs had veins, and it only made dem hands more beautiful.
