Description Just a bit of artistic nostalgia. And trying to find more ways to experiment with screentones and my own photo textures.

Sonic Adventure 2's artwork was what inspired to begin developing a stylistic approach to illustration back in 8th grade or so. I'd bring the manual with me to school and try to draw unique poses using the same sense of perspective and "leading the eye" lines as the artist (whose name escapes me at the moment, and Wikipedia isn't clear enough.)

Ah, good times. Shadow represents to me my re-exposure to the energy and creativity of the Sonic universe before it started to take all this criticism.

And that logo they used in Shadow The Hedgehog was just too cool for school... although its significance aside from being a cool logo eludes me. :/

Wow, this picture is awesome! The perspective is epic, and the coloring style really suits the picture.

Oh yeah, I think the symbol is for the Black Arms.

Yeah, much of the critisism towards the Sonic series is unfounded. Approximately 95% to be exact. The remaining five percent of the complainst-while I see the issues in question clearly enough-are extremely mior and should have no relevance to the finished product.

My only major gripes were in Sonic adventure-Heroes and that was the voice acting. The actors themselves were fine, but sometimes I just didn't feel the emotion they tried to convey through the character. Knuckles sounded too friendly, and when angry he wasn't intimidating enough, same with Amy. Eggman and Big's voices tended to be overlapped with background music making it hard to hear them talk, and Tails was flat and lifeless, sounding like a robot (And in Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, he sounded way too old for an 8 year old).

Anyway awesome work man, I like how you captured Shadow here. And the game's logo has it's significance alright. The symbol at the end of the game logo is actually one of the pendants Black Doom wears.

Gah. Hedgehogs with guns. <_<
But this is a rather wicked piece here nonetheless.

I love the shading--the picture, everything. You seem to capture sonic but also show his hero side of epic quality. I like the subtle colors and the way sonic seems to "pop" from how you used the colors and the background. The gun hole is oddly shaped, but that is the skew of how he is caught right on the brink of his action shot. Good job, you are an amazing artist but you know that

I remember that game. It wasn't great but I wouldn't call it terrible. Anyway, great job as usual Arc! ^_^

T_T That... that game just blew it for me... I jumped of the Sonic fan boat right after trying to beat it.

Ah well. Slick piece of art man! Love the screen tones.

My inspiration came from the pages of "Ultimate Spider-Man". I love Mark Bagley's work.
