So originally I was going to draw some flutterbat or something, but then my dad made me super depressed, so you can blame him for me doing this picture.

Edit: Looks like someone decided to make a short fanfic based on this, wow I didn't expect thatΒ RainIt was all her fault. She shouldn't have jumped in. She shouldn't have tried to save him.

...It was all his fault. He should have been more careful, should have seen the danger coming, should have felt it in his...hooves. (it was still weird thinking of himself as a pony instead of a human, a weird sort of jolt that made him pause before lurching forward with his train of thought)
It was raining now. Tears streamed down his face as he cradled his golden haired companion, her light grey coat darkening as the rain fell upon the two of them.
The creature that had killed her, lay dead in the bushes, not far from where they were. (it had been a manticore...now, it was just another corspe whose blood was on his hooves)
"I'm sorry," He whispered into her golden mane. "It was all my fault. I'm sorry."

Very strong emotional image you have there so very good job!
The vision while slightly blurry I think goes well with the scene it is portraying, its like looking through teary eyes in the rain.
This is definitely an original portrayal of the classic Ditzy and the Dr couple and I have to admit it looks great in a good sad way.
The technique you used with the shading, lighting and overall style looks really good and all comes together to complete this fantastic image!
Finally the impact of the image hits hard in a good way, so awesome work!
